What a great opportunity for city kids to experience nature. So many urban children have few opportunities to get into the outdoors. The experience helps to develop an appreciation for our environment. The teachers are so dedicated and the programs are such a great learning experience. They have something for every age. We got to see how you can tap for maple syrup. I hope that every child in the district gets a chance to participate.

I was a teacher for over 20 years with the TDSB and the EFSC was ALWAYS a place I took my students to EVERY year. This place is fantastic for so many reasons. Staff are passionate about being there and committed to the whole outdoor education vision. Students learn naturally by engaging in this magical environment. Special needs and considerations are accommodated. EFSC is one of the school boards prized gems. I hope the TDSB is smart enough to keep this center ALIVE! And if you’ve never been, GO!!!

TRCA's Etobicoke Field Study Centre
My child visited the Etobicoke Field Study Centre and from what was described to me, the program was excellent, and very interactive. The teachers are extremely knowledgeable, and they try to ensure that every child is included in all aspects of the program. The teachers have vast knowledge in the outdoors, and I feel that with the diversity of our city, some children would never have a chance to experience this, without having participated in this program. Right down to the turtles in the classroom. :) Keep up the great work!!
