Mill Bay Traditional Martial Arts Academy

A hidden jem indeed! I've done a number of martial arts before (including having been granted a black belt in kenpo kung fu) and this dojo has excellent instructors and a great dojo with lots of room. I've seen the good and the bad and this rates top notch with an excellent, varied style with a solid lineage to traditional Okinawan styles. I'm very happy to be training here.

Authentic Styles are hard to reach. We believe in balance and flow and the 5th set of rules. Yodan Sensei, shared well informened information in his godan series on the Pinan Kata. It was there i learned the rules to govern kata. We need to be traditional in our rules and i would admire Sensei Doug Mortley when he took credit and became second time I met him. He was all smiles and, he said with no man such that his teaching would guide him and that he was not a specialist of the Martial Arts. He is a kind master and has no equal in teaching kata. His libraries are but a legacy. He is at the perfect age for teaching the fighting and abilities of his Sensei. I enjoyed, well. Please call the dojo anytime you. We can all learn a thing or two from Doug's mastery of the kata.

Pat does a great job with the kids. The fees are a really good value as well!
