Video Pool

This is more of a 2.5.Not a good experience. The camera I reserved over the distance, it was not working for me, due to my lack of knowledge in this, and them not telling me how complex of a camera this is. Or, it simply may not have been a good one, since the image quality was not that good - but I was told by the lender it had no problems. It did have a loosened seat to the Tripod, becoming wobbly.Thankfully, the head was kind enough to at least cancel my membership all considered.If you do not test the camera/equipment before hand, you may be disappointed.I am finding I can buy similar equipment just on amazon, and not spend on these. E.g. a decent lavalier, similar one, I can just buy for myself online for the same price for a day rental.So far, they are also only per day rentals, which can add up even if you need it for couple hours.Their frontline customer service could certainly be better too, to say the least.They do not help you set up the equipment but they are good to explain how to set up, so you must know everything else.

Video Pool is a wonderful artist run centre that provides access to video and audio equipment, training, and exhibition. I wandered into its doors 10 years ago, and that has launched me into a career in media arts. I am so thankful to the staff for their openness and expertise. (Full disclosure, I now sit on the board of this organization - because I am eager to give back.)
