Eglinton Station Medical Centre

On April 11th at 3.30 pm, we (my mom and I) went to discuss my lab and ultrasound results with “Dr. Shokri”, all I can say is every negative review that I read about her is true, she was forcing me to take birth control pills against my wish, when I clearly told her, I’d prefer to see an endocrinologist first, and then start taking medication for my condition!She became defensive and told me that she has enough literacy and I should listen to her because this medical center does not work this way and the patients “MUST” listen to the doctor and what they prescribe!She clearly does not have enough confidence and self-control especially, for the position of a doctor which should be caring and patient. I don’t know why they let her see patients in her condition.In the middle of our appointment, while I was still talking, she stood up and told me that she is not going to give me a referral for an endocrinologist and then she said “I’M DONE, I’M DONE WITH THIS APPOINTMENT”. While shouting!At this point, we were all standing up and she pushed my mom out of the room while grabbing her arm. (Physical assault.) and then, when we refused to leave the room, she just went outside and into another room and locked the door behind her.She is absolutely outrageous, unprofessional, and inhumane with disgusting behaviour.I’m also going to send an email to Eglinton station medical center’s medical Director about this matter.Disgusting behavior, she’s an awful person. Do not risk your life seeing her.

I was so surprised to see such unfavourable reviews for this medical centre and thought that people need to start sharing their good experience, and not only bad - so I'll start with myself. I've been with this clinic pretty much from the opening. My first appointment was as a walk-in patient and after I was lucky to be accepted by Dr. Singh as a patient. During my whole experience, everyone who works in this clinic is amazing. Front desk stuff is always helpful and welcoming, I always received follow up calls on all the matters. I was visiting this clinic as a walk in, when my doctor was on vacation - no complaints, every time I got professional help and in a timely manner. And Dr. Singh is an amazing doctor, very supportive, thorough to help. Now it's my second pregnancy with him before I get transferred to an Obgyn, and I feel so well taken care of. And I live in Newmarket and still don't want to change my family doctor, because I know how challenging it can be to find a good one. Please keep up such a great work, thank you!

A professional staff who are clearly compassionate and understanding towards patients. Highly recommend. I feel blessed to have Dr. Shokri as my family doctor. Thank you for everything you guys do!

Please stay away from Dr. Shokri, worst customer service and horrible attitude towards patients.I had an appointment on June 2 at 9:30 AM for family medicine. I asked her for bloodwork and a general check up, she said she doesn’t do these requests for walk-in emergency patients. I reminded her this appointment was booked for family medicine and I’ve been waiting six weeks for it. She rudely denied my scheduled appointment request and said she’s not taking new patients in.I showed her the email (pictures attached), where the receptionist confirmed Dr. Shokri had accepted me for family medicine. The doctor, very confused, told me to wait outside as she’s running behind. The receptionist was very kind and confirmed her colleague had booked it for family medicine. She asked me to wait for Dr. Shokri to call me in again.After 45 minutes of waiting, I was brought back into the room where Dr. Shokri, unapologetically said she’s not seeing new patients and may leave the office soon so she won’t be taking me in for family medicine but rather as an emergency. She aggressively said what are you here for because I’m busy and don’t have the time for this.I told her this is a disrespect of my time. Being a doctor myself, it’s bizarre that a physician, like herself had such an entitled and unapologetic behaviour towards her patients.Regardless of the appointment possibly being booked wrong by her staff or Dr. Shokri not acknowledging she had accepted me for family medicine; what is unacceptable is the stressed out and disrespectful attitude of Dr. Shokri.

This was my first time at Eglinton Station Medical Centre and I had a nice experience. The staff were cordial. Dr. Yang was thorough in her examination and addressed all my concerns. I would recommend Eglinton Station Medical Centre.

I had a great experience. The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful and the quality of care I received from the doctor was fantastic.

Hurt my foot and showed up there without an appointment. They went out of their way to squeeze me in. The reception lady was very helpful. Extremely satisfied with the professionalism of the physician at this walk in clinic. Had an Xray for my foot and the doc promptly called as soon as she received the result. Thank you.

I'd like to know why you guys are reporting reviews so they can be deleted from your google page. my sister came here and had a terrible experience, I feel really bad for recommending this place to her, Dr.Shokri was nothing but disrespectful to her, I am not going to recommend any of my friends of family members to come here. And by reading the comments below I can see we are not the only ones who have had bad encounters with Dr.Shokri. please do not report google reviews as the public should be able to see what type of professionals you have there, including the receptionists as well!

I was very impressed by Dr Shokri. The way she listened and discussed with me the issue I was having left me feeling much more at ease. I've never left a review for a clinic before, but this stood out.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lui for years, I've given her many chances to do better, and I'm at the point where I will have to leave her practice. She is argumentative and condescending and I always leave feeling belittled. She has on numerous occasions over the years accused me of lying to her about symptoms (because they don't fit with her diagnosis or because I told her about them but she didn't write them down) or withholding important information about my conditions. When I saw her for help with anxiety she was sarcastic in saying things like, oh
