Bridge Lake Ice Caves Trail
Cool hike, not much ice in the summer and caves are small but still cool to check out. Hike below is more difficult but great scenery

We got this tip from the Visitor Centre. You're supposed to be able to see snow / ice between the rock formations. Unfortunately we were there in June and found only one small patch of ice between the rocks. The natives used to cool their food their apparently. This tourist spot seems to be in development, but it's there.

This was a nice little hike right off of Hwy 24. Nice 2 km route which will take you to two viewing platforms right above the caves and overlooking a lake.

Very cool caves and nice trail and there is also a very cool and creative Geocache series, right on the lake that we camped on so it was not too far away from Bridge Lake Camp

This was such a neat find!! I'm giving it a 4 stars as it has potential once they're done adding the little obstacle areas along the trail but right now it's a 3 star in writing this! The boardwalks for viewing are neat but they don't take you to where u can see any of the ice! You make it so people have to improperly and unsafely climb them to get to the other side so you can get down in the crevaces to see anything! BUT if you do... You won't be disappointed! Sooo cold down there and tons of ice even on the 27degree day we visited it! A quick and easy walk in but worth it!

The ice caves are an east-west crevasse in the rocks, formed along an old fault line. Over the years, winter snow and ice has pushed the rocks apart, leaving a deep crack where the sun never shines. Would probably be more impressive to see it in summer when the snow is gone. Currently there is about a foot/30 cm of snow with a strong crust on the main path.

It was a great walk and someone had even shovelled out a path in the snow. My old dog who struggles with deep snow was even able to make it down to the ice caves. I loved all the totems on the way. The view is amazing! I live not far from here and ill definitely come back snow or sun a great place to take a visitor. The walk is short and its an easy trail.

I grew up in Bridge Lake and went back this summer to visit. I was intrigued to see that a once 'locals-only' spot had been publicly developed. And while the trails are a nice touch with the fitness path, I was immediately turned off by the fake native totem pole art right from the first step out of my car. This is not Haida territory and these poles look like they were made in China! So while I commend the thought to develop these trails, I would hope we can do better than that. Maybe consultation with local first nations communities should have been considered.
