Tasty toasties, delicious sweets. Especially liked the Oreo truffle! Lots of space inside and a table outside as well. Friendly and helpful staff.

We decided to stay local during these ever increasing times of Covid and support a local business. We really enjoyed the combo option of soup and either a toastie or pannini. Great value for money not to mention really clean and inviting atmosphere. BUT we are both still reeling from the fact that another table which had been taken by 2 young mums with very young babies were asked to stop breast feeding the wee tots as the owner had complaints previously regarding other mums doing what is best for newborn babies and giving them breast milk. The owner was confronted by my partner and was given some advice on the laws on mums and breastfeeding, this just fell on deaf ears and the female owner said that it was not accepted by all, for mums to carryout this in public. And she would rather be down in 2 customers or the other 22 that were in the building at the same time. OMG times have changed as should the attitudes of the owners of this establishment.

Lovely cozy little place, the staff is super friendly. The coffee is delicious and they have the best scones I've had in a long time. Very reasonable prices. All the regulations in place, everything is spotless. They also sale handcrafted jewelry and decorative items. I can't wait to go back!

Absolutely shocking behaviour from the so called management telling two young mother's they can't breastfeed the young babies in there cafe even through its illegal to do so and making them leave or feed there children in a toilet disgusting!!! In a time where small businesses need customers you've done a good job turning people away.

What a great find! Truly excellent home style cooking (meaning actually prepared yourself and not pre-prepared), generous portions , very friendly service from the owners. The Scottish lentil soup was chock full of tasty vegetables and my tuna melt panini had just the right acidity to balance the generous portion of melted cheese. The homemade biscoff cake was simply delicious and the finale of an orange aero hot chocolate was perhaps one of the best I have ever had, not withstanding having drunk very expensive gourmet hot chocolates in the French home of chocolate, Bayonne! The overall rating for the Peppermill, currently dragged down by some poor reviews related to one unfortunate incident, in no way reflects the quality of the cooking or the welcome you will receive. I'm sure the high proportion of 5 star ratings will absolutely dominate in the future.

Wow. Imagine being asked to breastfeed your baby in the toilet! I feel so sorry for the mothers being treated in such a way. A poor, poor show by the staff and management of this cafe. Admittedly, I've never been, but I certainly never will now. In a time and age when we all need to show a little kindness. Shame on you.

Hidden gem. Popped in for breakfast while my son was warming up for a local kids football match. Great breakfast and company from a tiny dog wearing a leather bomber jacket!

Have read about an experience that needs to be made public. A lady and her friend who were breastfeeding their children was asked to leave! Discrimination at its finest. It's also law in Scotland that aslong as children are of age to be in the place that you are allowed to breastfeed in public, so either offer a public apology or some kind of compensation to the lady, before several people decide not to make use of your business.
