My alternator broke down when I was on my sailing trip around Kingston area and I have contacted Doug. He was really helpful and got me a very good rebuild alternator and a spare one just in case. Two years later he help me as well when I had some issues with my tachometer and shipped all required parts from Kingston to Toronto. I would recommend Doug to everyone. When building a remote controlled mower robot there's much to be considered. Getting to know Doug while he applied his expertise to the project via sourcing the perfect alternator took that off my plate and was a great learing experience. When our starter failed as we were maneuvering our 35 ft sailboat into our assigned berth, the dock attendant referred us to Doug to get the problem solved.The next morning Doug arrived at the marina and picked up the starter which I had removed from the boat. Within a couple of hours we received a detailed text message with photos identifying the problem. Doug did a great job helping with my special project - a propane engine powered 24 volt generator for my off grid solar system. Doug coached me though selecting an alternator, did a really nice job providing a like-new rebuilt one, and then, when I fried the regulator and triodes due to a wiring error in my system, Doug quickly and reasonably made the repairs. Even changed the regulator style to one that provides much less opportunity for me to make an error. And the pricing was very good.

Today we were on a road trip to a car show from Haliburton Ontario to Stowe Vermont and as luck would have it. Our alternator in our 40 year old British car went up in smoke at a stop in Gananoque. I had traveled about 4.5 hrs from my home location. I realized my alternator was no longer working. I decided to purchase an alternator to do the repair myself. I accidentally broke the alternator sense wire screw/bolt of the new alternator. I decided to call Doug to see if he could help me repair or fix the new alternator. Doug managed to successfully perform the repair on my new alternator. The total cost of the fix was $20.00. Doug later gave me torque specs for the sense wire screw (10ft-lbs) and gave me fair prices for alternators supplied by his company. Once I installed my new alternator with the fix, my truck started right up and I drove to my home location.So, if you are ever having alternator or starter problems for your vehicle, I highly recommend giving Doug a call.Scott.
