Funny thing, when you need a lawyer, you search for one. My beginnings started back in 1998 when my father was dying from cancer and needed his will and his Power of Attorney done. That also applied for my mother as well. A Land Title needed work and we used them, and when my mother needed her will and POA redone, we used the company once again.Since my mother does not speak English too well, the people here speak Cantonese as well as other languages. However my mother was referred by my aunt whose children went to the same church. Their circle of friends contained a lawyer who happens to work here.

AVIOD THIS LAW FIRM IN ALL MEANSI was given INCORRECT advise regarding Changes Ownership Tax. The lawyer, William, was rude and “forced” me to pay an extra consultation fee WITHOUT INITIALLY RECEIVING CONSENT from me. The law firm was also advised me to pay the fee in CASH.He said that if the current owner was a foreign owner, and if he wished to transfer the property to you that meant that I must pay 25% tax. This was not the capital gain but the actual value of the house.William then calculated the value of my house, and said to me that CRA will charge 25% of current property value plus an additional 3%. The 25% withholding was not mentioned, which will eventually release it back to owner. Also, the 25% is NOT the property's value, but the capital gain portion. I confirmed this with my other lawyers and did some research myself!William did NOT give me ANY useful information, and the meeting lasted approximately 15 minutes. Should’ve just used GOOGLE than BETTER them!He told me to pay $50, but he didn't mention it before or during the meeting with any sort of agreement. I tried to confront him at first but did not do it. I then was then asked by the company to better pay in CASH.I hope the lawyer should be better trained before giving any legal advise!!

save your money and time just go find another lawyer. their receptions are unfriendly, and the lawyer himself couldn’t care less about your problem. The worst was they charge tripled what other lawyer do, and claim notarization processing time will be a month while other lawyer only need 10 business days.

Their office in Vancouver is conveniently located on West 41st and Yew Street in Kerrisdale. Plenty of pay street parking on 41st and nearby side streets. Dr. Lim is very friendly and speaks multiple languages. The front desk clerks are also friendly and helpful. I would give them 4 stars if the case handler is more proactive. Every time I had to call her to get an update even though she promised to call me. Seems like she doesn’t care about me because she told me that they were working with a multi real estate transactions for this particular complex.
