Spanish Bay Inn & Suites

This heritage property on Pitt Street has housed a hotel since at least the 1940's, when it was called Paul's Hotel. The front desk is original, and photos of the original owners (Paul and his wife, who sold it to the current owners after her husband's death) can be seen in the lobby.For downtown Sydney, the modern version of the hotel is good value, but Spanish Bay Inn's promise of luxury meets convenience" wasn't quite kept:Service: Extremely limited (due in part to COVID); there is no breakfast and the front desk is staffed only a couple of hours a day. (You'll need to call the number on the door when you arrive. Be prepared to wait a few minutes.)Room: Was clean but very chilly (in early October). Armchairs in the room were visibly worn. We never did get the TV to work (no issues with internet though).Mobility: Due to heritage regulations

I woke up here a few weeks ago with no recollection of arriving. I left immediately without realising i was missing a shoe until i was 3 blocks away. Didnt go back. Still trying to piece it all together but it appears i may have cheated on my wife. Rooms are clean. Neighbours probly heard everything. Room was facing the street but i think i was facing a pillow and didnt notice the open curtain all night. Pipes are loud. Someone showered late at night, desturbing us. Had to sit on a stolen hotel pillow for days after. Not a pillow from here tho.

Old shabby hotel with poor customer services. Will charge you for cleaning despite its a hotel and they should have made arrangement for cleaning it regularly

Beautiful room , excellent location ,personable service and so clean. Oh and the best water pressure!

Asked for a quiet room, got one facing the main street with sirens and everything, and they didn't mention construction banging would begin at 840am on a Saturday. . Water pipes are LOUD by the way, if neighbors are showering you're going to be fully awake before they're done. It's very clean, though. Decent stay if you have an early start and are a heavy sleeper

Linda greeted us with open arms. Beautiful rooms fantastic water pressure in the shower. Everything was wonderful. I will only ever stay here, while in Sydney. Close to the boardwalk. Love it!
