The Academy of Martial Arts - Mississauga South/Oakville

I've been training here since 2014 and it's been a life changing experience. The community is welcoming and the space is perfect! They have lots of different offered classes and they even kept us training through Covid (online of course)! Highly recommended for both the traditional study of the discipline as well as the promotion of active lifestyles!

The Mississauga South Academy of Martial Arts is not only a place where you can study the World of Martial Arts but also increase confidence full body workout and mental stamina I recommend for all to try the martial arts and push your body to do some incredible things.

Both my son (16 years) and I have had the pleasure to train at Sensei Salhia’s dojo for almost 2 years now. My prior karate training included 6.5 years (achieving a black belt) at another karate dojo in the same Goju Ryu style. The AMA Mississauga dojo is an excellent environment for first timers and for returnees. Very welcoming, clean and friendly, family-oriented and excellent instruction. There is also a good variety of class options available including Kobudo (weapons) and Tai Chi. There are also great options for adaptive classes (ASD, hearing-impaired for example). My son is in the autism spectrum and the dojo has been a fantastic experience for him. The instructors are very understanding and patient which has helped make it a very positive journey for him.

My son has autism and it was recommended that I try martial arts. I’m so grateful I did it. My son has enjoyed this for 4 years now. Every class is so special for him. He has learned to work hard, get some exercise, have fun and meet new people. They celebrate holidays and special events.Martial arts has become a very important part of his life.
