MacEwan House and Barn

Nice barn house. It was closed when I visited.

MacEwan's House originally build in 1850 and till now surrounded by beautiful nature. The property is particularly valued as an important cultural landscape. House was built by owners as a summer house or cottage. The house was enlarged in the 1950s with an addition on the east being constructed in a similar style. There is very intresting fact that the basement floor is made of concrete and horseshoes from a prize-winning horse have been embedded into it.The MacEwan House now serves as a classroom for TRC and an art studio for VAM. Intresting and knowledgeable classes & birds feeding tours provided for schools in Riverwood Conservancy.For children and families there is a chance to explore the wilderness, connect with nature, and learn skills they can put to use everywhere they go.House and Barn are historical landmark and hidden gem in a city of Mississauga with its own intresting history and charm.
