Beautiful paintings!

I had a really wonderful experience working with James. After my father passed away from cancer I was looking for a piece that reminded me of him for our feature wall. There happened to be a Charlesworth that my wife and I just fell in love with. James gave us lots of space to browse, very low pressure, and when we showed interest in the piece, he was incredibly enthusiastic and helpful in the design of an appropriate frame and made sure everything was perfect. Whenever we are in the area we make sure to drop in to look at (drool over) all the lovely works in the gallery.

RendezVous has been a pillar of the upmarket Vancouver art scene for years now. Representing many internationally renowned artists, the gallery balances its showcase with an array of works that range from those addressing broadly prevailing tastes to more challenging paintings that invite detailed scrutiny in order to appreciate their various subtleties.Especially well represented here are artists working in The Algonquin School of landscape painting where bold expressionist colors and painterly applications predominate. Heraldic animal sculptures and images of leisured urbanity are likewise featured consistently but among these one also finds the occasional work of abstraction like Drissia Abid’s cubist pieces. Aesthetically and stylistically tending towards a fusion of approaches, the artists who make up the majority of those on display have strong academic backgrounds and so will incorporate several learned techniques into individual pieces while modulating that in accordance with their subject matter; see for example Olaf Schneider’s Autumn Fresh for a refined appropriation of pointillist methods.For those who aren’t especially familiar with the art world, the gallery’s senior art consultant James Dziak will be able to provide whatever guidance is desired out of his plentiful expertise. Whether you’re looking for work simply to suit your home décor, or interested in art as a financial investment, James can certainly assist you in arriving at the best decision for you personally. And given the wealth of talent to choose from, including the invigorating “en plein air” scenes of Perry Haddock and the eclectic virtuosity of Matin Bayani, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding art that inspires you.

Small gallery, but worth visiting. Mostly paintings, but a few sculptures (of bears, among other things) as well! It should only take 5-10 minutes to walk by everything at least once.
