We always stop for a night in Kingston on our way to wherever — and we always take our seats at the bar at Tango Nuevo. Food is delightful, atmosphere is chill, staff are lovely. Dairy and gluten-free options on the menu. See you next time!

Excellent food and service. The Chorizo was die for! Highly recommend trying different items on the menu and tasting it; you will not be disappointed! Easily one of my favs to go back to - Big 5 stars

We were 3 people and we took the grilled chicken, scallops and turkish ravioli. Ambience was nice. Food tasted good and the server was extremely helpful and nice. However I had the scallops and my girlfriend tried some from me and we later started having nausea, vomiting feeling and diarrhea later that night. I had worse symptoms. We checked in google and we believe we got- Diarrheic Shellfish Poisoning - from the food. Not what we expected from a $40 (with tip) meal in fancy restaurant like this. Wouldn’t come back.

Everything about Tango Nuevo was perfect. The food and sauce are all prepared in house. I thought the sauce on the fish tacos would be store bought so I could handle the spice (I'm a wimp with spice) but it was made in house with every ingredient quite ripe thus quite spicy. The server saw my struggle and helped me promptly with a garlic aoli that paired very nicely, and a glass of water and a good chuckle was had by all. I loved it so much that I brought another group of friends the night after.

Wonderful spot for a group! We purchased a bunch of items and all of then were super flavourful. Across the board, I was particularly impressed with the flavours of the sauces and oils in each dish. They really stood out. Highlights for me were the lamb tacos, the avocado tartare, the chorizo and manchego, and the ceviche!The Smiling Buddha was the cocktail I purchased and I loved it. Like a really good, amped up spicy Margarita.

Beautifully decorated restaurant with very fine dishes. Smaller plates to share but super delicious. The portions look small but are actually very rich and completely filling. Their non alcoholic sangria was refreshing. Our server Maggie was very sweet and professional with a constant beautiful smile. We sat in the patio for lunch. The patio chairs and stools are beautiful and comfy. I recommend this nice place for sure!

While they weren't convinced I review everything, here we go.Caroline was incredibly inviting and engaged while that may not have been a theme amongst some of the other staff.The space was clean and the interior, while keeping the focus on its historical features, took advantage of soft lighting that created a rustic yet romantic feel. Tucked away in the far back corner was a private nook that hugged me from all angles, giving me privacy and a sense of seclusion but easily sat 5.While this had not been my first time here, it was the first time I went alone to embrace the atmosphere without distractions. It had been a top contender for me since being in YGK, and I've taken many friends here when they visit.As much as I love entertaining them, this was about me. As an individual, I would recommend using this space for late-night work if you're wanting to embrace the atmosphere. While it's ideal for dates and intimate friendships, you should be able to experience self-love: instead of waiting for someone to invite you to the party; narrowly missing the romance of it, altogether.Overall, I'd give it a 3.5/5

A destination restaurant in Kingston, Tango Nuevo is a great place to enjoy tapas style plates with a group of friends. The interior of the restaurant through dark is very well appointed with a welcoming homey style of decor.The menu options are mostly typical for authentic tapas style restos including an expansive cheese board or meat (charcuterie) board options. For our late lunch/early dinner we ended up sitting outside on the small terrace overlooking King St and ordered Kale Salad (very good...soften kale with a sweet tangy dressing), patatas bravas (a classic), gambas al ajillo (lemon garlic shrimp...tasty), carne picante (a good beef chuck taco, essentially) and asian pork ribs (very good). We finished the meal with deep fried churros (excellent...with a wonderful maple sauce) and an excellent peanut butter tiramisu (surprisingly very good).Service was excellent with the wait staff regularly checking on us and asking about our feedback. The only downside I would say is that it is on the pricey side given each dish is more than $20....but other than that it is a solid recommendation. Enjoy!
