Supercrawl Festival

Our long overdue first visit to this annual event and it's easy to see it draws up to a quarter million people. Great event space along James and the side streets in the developing and revitalized Hamilton core with many striking heritage buildings to appreciate. Interesting mix of shops and vendor tents with the focus on the arts along this stretch many of which carry a unique selection of products with an organic bent. A free event, Supercrawl is anchored by a mix of at least three stages along James Street between King Street and the historic Canadian National Railway terminal next to the new West Harbour GO Train station. Bring comfortable footwear and sample some of the neighbourhood restaurants and stores. Easy to get to with public transit, by foot, GO bus or train and by car with many public parking lots surrounding the event area. Hope to attend next year.

Busy yet fun and exciting!

Always a great time and amazing artist my fav being sugarbones and the music and the event is always a must.

As a resident of James north, if I could give zero stars I would. I’m glad that the artists who can actually afford to spend the high cost on a booth rental have the opportunity to sell their wares, but this “art” festival has gentrified artists the very same way it has a hand in gentrifying my neighborhood. As a local, it is extremely disruptive and myself and many residents on this street absolutely dread it every year to the point most make plans to leave for the weekend. From the traffic and parking disruptions to the extreme noise, it’s like the organizers completely disregard the fact this a residential street. It’s time to move this corporate event elsewhere.

This was my first time going to super crawl - a friend of mine told me to expect an event with music and art but I must say, the event highlight was the street performers and the headliner, Lido Piemienta, who was on at 11:30 PM! If you do plan to check this out, don’t bother making it early, what’s worth seeing happens much later in the evening. Also, I would have to say, the art curated by Kristine Germainn was pretty disappointing.

Great Event, a must see for all Music fans.

Not as cool as I imagined, local bands are good but it's not like a festival, you should buy a ticket to access to buy a drink!
