I’ve been with John since his first shop when he worked by himself. How far he has come is no fluke. He is a great artist who knows how to run and manage multiple businesses. His tattoo shops have become a premiere franchise in Calgary with a very loyal clientele. I have no doubt when John tattoos me and offers suggestions in adding to my ideas and tattoos. Real quality art and real investments. It’s been a pleasure over the years talking and dealing with you.

No, I personally have not been a client nor will I ever. I am not a fake account, I am a family member of one of your clients that was treated very unfairly. You state you take these matters very seriously yet you are not willing to rectify the situation. In the end Emily Clare is the service provider. She provides a service to a customer. If she is unprofessional and unable to provide the service she should not be taking money from people. A tattoo is a very personal thing, especially in relation to disguising surgical scars. A tattoo is a lifetime commitment. Nobody would move forward with a drawing that was not what they asked for or discussed with the artist. It's unethical to take money for a two session tattoo, complete one session and refuse to finish because the client does not like the drawing for a tattoo planned for the future. This artist needs to get over herself. It's not about her and how great she thinks her design is. THE CUSTOMER DOESN'T LIKE IT (it was awful by the way) ! Your job is to make the customer happy, and then take their money. This customer should be refunded the money for a job not completed. Aside from any human compassion and empathy for what she has been through in the last year (Emily Clare is well aware), it's simple business practice.

Sarah W is amazing. She was able to take my ideas and make something truly beautiful. Her watercolour is boss status. Her tattoo is my most complimented ever since I got it. She’s a very gentle artist and really makes you feel comfortable and welcome. The shop is also one of the nicest and cleanest I’ve been in (I’ve been to a few now). They have a beautiful set up and friendly, welcoming vibe. I’ll be going back to see Sarah again for sure.

Pete Lozoya did a full forearm tattoo and the experience was fantastic, start to finish.Booking was seamless.He took my ideas and gave great feedback. He has a great knowledge of tattooing and vision.It is remarkable that he remembered our conversation from a month ago and was able to recreate a beautiful sketch.He was accommodating to suggestions throughout.His price is very fair. He was easy to contact throughout.Truly an incredible artist and I am very happy with his work.

Mahala of Inked by Lala was wonderful to work with, from the first. She has created beautiful designs based on my vague and confused ideas. She has also created a stunning arm piece based on a painting I love, and that gets me daily compliments.Boss Beltline is a great location, easy to get to, easy parking, and absolutely gorgeous and welcoming inside. Their artists are all incredibly talented.I look forward to working on more designs with Mahala!

Sami is hands down one of the best tattoo artist I've ever seen. She is very clean, kind and knowledgeable. My lines on my tattoos are clean and crisp. She explained in great deal after care. I would definitely recommend her for any tattoo! Will be coming back.

I got a tattoo done 7 months ago, I waited to see if I would learn to love it but unfortunately I just want it lasered off. I regret not speaking up at the time. What upsets me is that I asked to see a preview weeks beforehand to avoid this exact situation! I understand artists don't have time to go back and fourth over every little detail, however this was a big piece, and going on my skin forever - a simple photo would've gone a long way!We did a consult on December 9th, originally I wanted a big, round design on my shoulder/ upper arm. I changed my mind and decided to go with a smaller design on my front forearm weeks prior. I thought he would send me a sketch at some stage to see if I was happy with it but never did, so I messaged him for an update on December 29th and didn't get much clarity.On the day of the appointment, I arrived late (my fault!). He presented me with this sketch, it looked very big and round for my tiny forearm, like he hadn't changed the design since switching the placement. Also, we had agreed on geranium flowers but somehow ended up with roses?Since I was already late, and don't make decisions well under pressure, I didn't make a fuss. The design was a bit different to what I wanted, but I still thought it was pretty and wanted to trust his vision. It wasn't until he was finished with the shading that I realized I made a big mistake. The shading/ saturation was never discussed and it was WAY DARKER than what I wanted, I also didn't know he would be filling in some spots completely black.Aside from that, the snake make no sense visually, it looks disproportionate, does not flow through the flowers and has a lot of messy black lines and extra detailing that I didn't want. There is different needle sizes throughout and a lot of crooked lines, overall I feel like it looks like a teenage angsty drawing, not a professional piece of art.I wanted something soft, simple and feminine that would match the rest of my tattoos but it clashes and does not suit me at all. Very upsetting, I paid decent money and thought I was doing the right thing by booking enough time in advance to make sure I got something I loved. I just wish the artist had been as invested as I was.

If you're looking for an excellent whatever they are, and you're reading this review you're already half way there.Boss Tattoos is a very clean, professional shop that uses high quality equipment in the hands of even higher quality artists. All of my work has been done by Emily (@emilyclaretattooer on instagram) and I could not be happier with the experience or the end results. Emily and all the artists around were all very friendly, professional, and genuinely excited about the artwork they're creating. I had a very pleasant consultation process with my artwork being finalized before I even step foot into the shop for my tattoos, as well as professional and sanitary sittings. I would highly recommend Emily or any of the Boss Tattoos artists if you're looking to add some new artwork to your body.

Whitney is amazing, not only is her artwork absolutely beautiful and stunning, but she also helped get through the painful parts! Soo happy!! Photo is one and a half years healed!

I cannot say enough good things about Boss Tattoos and Emily Clare (@emilyclaretattooer). The space itself is extremely clean and inviting. Emily and I are currently in the process of completing a 3/4 sleeve and every session is so much fun! I feel like her and I have been friends forever. She's extremely talented and professional, and accommodates in every way - scheduling, proofing, updates and process. Every session she makes you feel comfortable and welcomed, and you can see her passion and enthusiasm for her career.
