I recently finished my first 4-week bachata/salsa dance classes at Montuno Dance Company with instructors, Moi and Lianabel, and found them to be knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about what they do. They created a fun and engaging learning space that helped me improve my dance skills and master the basics quickly. Finally found what I was looking for! Experienced and attentive teachers, very relaxed and welcomed atmosphere and awesome people. Enjoying every bit of each class!

First off Lianabel & Moi are both such amazing teachers! They both really take their time and efforts to make you as comfortable as possible, while pushing you out of your comfort zone, and having fun with you to take the edge off a stressful week. It was a pleasure taking beginners Bachata and Salsa class. I personally have not danced any of these before, but they made it such a fun and memorable experience. I will definitely be returning back!

I took some private lessons with Moises and Lianabel. The technical tips they give are highly useful and worth learning. These guys really know their stuff and are great at communicating and noticing specific things that you can tweak to become a better dancer. Highly recommend.Also, their regular classes are super fun. The moves they teach are unique and easy to follow. Great for beginners or intermediate dancers.

I recently started taking classes at Montuno DC and I have been blown away by the quality of instruction and the welcoming environment. I moved to Calgary from Edmonton this year. I took a break from dancing over the summer. As the hiking season is over, I was looking for a dance studio to polish my dance skills. After attending a few socials, I decided to give Montuno DC a try. Loved it! Moises and Lianabel are passionate dance teachers. They are super energetic and friendly. They are not only showing you how to do it but also giving you feedback and pinpoint the key things to improve your moves. Def recommend!

Having zero dance background, I was definitely hesitant to sign up for group classes, but after completing the first 4 weeks of Beginner Salsa & Bachata with MDC, I can wholeheartedly say that it was well-worth every second and truly shifted my self-limiting beliefs about 'not being a dancer.' If you are considering taking lessons - whether it be for your first time ever or to experience new teachers and a new environment - say YES!!! Moises and Liana are amazing at what they do! They both bring fun and humour into their lessons while also integrating their incredible knowledge and talents to teach in a way that is both entertaining and expansive. I am deeply grateful for the time, energy and passion they put into teaching and I will absolutely be coming back for more! Dance is such a beautiful way to connect with others and deepen your connection with yourself, and I am SO glad I got to have my first formal experiences in this space with Moises and Liana at MDC.

I've taken other salsa and bachata classes in the past but Montuno DC is on a completely different level! Moise and Lianabel are hands down the most prepared, enthusiastic and patient professionals I have ever met in the industry. Their energy is so contagious I honestly can't wait for the next class, which I wish could last way longer! The atmosphere is relaxed, playful, and never judgmental. They break down every single step for you to fully grasp what to do and how to do it, correcting you and giving you advice when needed. They also adapt the difficulty of the class based on the overall participants's level, so you never feel bored but nicely challenged instead! I'm so grateful I have chosen them over anybody else!! I genuinely see the huge progress I've made in just one month, the mentors you pick can make such a difference! Dancing has never come naturally to me, I have leaned towards more mainstream athletic endeavours. But, it was time to get out of my comfort zone and this couldn't have been a better place to start. I needed humour and great instruction and received both. Their energy only proved to enhance my enjoyment of Bachata and I will be signing up again for the next sessions.
