I started with my hive last season. The Alvéole staff who came by every month to help and teach were amazing. They would patiently explain, demonstrate and advise as I learned how to properly care for my hive. This year, I am able to do more on my own, but if I have a question, or need some advice, they are there, willing and able to help. The training sessions I have attended have been excellent, with any and all questions answered fully. I recommend anyone who is interested in keeping need to contact them...a great way to learn with support what is a relaxing, and environmentally beneficial pastime.

Alvéole, does not respect job applicants’ time. Absurd back and forth interview process that went on for more than a month for an unskilled contract position that was only for THREE WEEKS of work as a beekeeper's assistant. At no point was I informed how long the interview process would be. Nor did they do me the dignity of telling me they selected someone else until I called them myself to ask the day before training was supposed to start.May 17 - Applied for the position with a cv an cover letter.June 5 - Received an email for a phone interviewJune 7 - Phone interview. It went well.June 14 - I follow up with an email and was told they would follow up promptly when readyJune 19 - I received an email for a follow up in-person interview. I replied and we agreed to meet on June 22.June 22 - In-person interview, it went well. I enjoyed it. I learn training would begin on July 7.June 26 - I receive an email with a form asking for three references and a self-declaration of criminality. I reply with the references and have declared I have no criminal convictions. I inform my references that they may be contacted.June 28 - My references are emailed a detailed questionnaire about me and the work I did for them. This probably took each of these three people half an hour to complete on my behalf. I thank then for acting as a reference for me.July 6 - I haven’t heard anything so I call to follow up and I'm told I was just going to call you later today" and was told they found someone else

While the concept of giving more urban dwellers a bee experience sounds good, I believe one needs to question the aggressiveness by which Alvéole has expanded its operations. While they present themselves as being these lovely do-gooders providing an alternative to the honey industry, they seem to have gleefully adopted many of the problems of modern industrial beekeeping into their operation.Given the high number of hives they have established within a small area, and their willingness to hire staff inexperienced in bee management, one needs to really consider the possible negative consequences this organization presents to urban eco-systems and bee health in general. There are limits to the number of bee hives any area can support.Does someone participating in their program learn to keep healthy bees? Or do they simply experience the struggle of trying to keep bees alive in poor circumstances?

so today is the day i was looking for to get some real honey, I was so disappointed with the one of the staff didn't really want to sell me honey because the jar were not labeled as he just sold 3 in front of me to a lady as he was really nice to her she got one and saw the price and she wanted more, he got her more 3 unlabeled jar of honey. then when it was my turn he did;t want to sell any. he told me they cant sell than he need to check if they have any, than oh wait we are out with that they just want me out I am so disappointed with that customer service.

Ooooommmggggggggg this is unreal. When I first heard about it I was super confused. But now I am enlightened by what they do to help sustain the bees for our environment and providing fresh honey to locals. Would recommend for your business or school for sure. Keep up the good work.
