I came to Hacker and Krain a long long time ago to purchase a chef knife. I recently came back to get the same knife sharpened, and as usual, this was an incredible experience.The shop owner is an extremely knowledgeable person. Not only will he walk you through the process of purchasing a kitchen knife (it's not as easy as you may think) he will also tell you wonderful stories about the history of the knife you are about to purchase.All knives come with a lifetime promise" that the shop will not charge for sharpening something you purchased at their store. I always walk away from Hacher and Krain with impeccably crafted knives and invaluable education. Thank you Greg, you are a hero in my books. Here is my new Robert Beillonnet (From H&K) hand made in France by master blade smiths. Love it!

Stopped in on a whim, and glad I did. Greg (owner) has an incredible depth of knowledge about his products. Enjoyed learning about the steel and shape of the knives. Will be going back.

Very helpful in general, great at assessing what I needed, along with a history lesson. Money raised from sharpening services goes to charity, as well.

My husband bought me 2 knives from this shop a couple years ago, and they've been incredible. Just great knives to use for all my kitchen purposes. Recently, he dropped them off with the owner to be sharpened, as they've gotten dull over time. Not only did the owner sharpen and reshape them for free, he actually noticed that a decorative inlay in one of the handles was coming loose and REPLACED THE ENTIRE KNIFE FOR US, without us noticing the issue or asking for a replacement! The customer service in this shop is top notch & I definitely recommend buying your knives here!
