AST Trust Company (Canada) Now TSX Trust

my father and I have been dealing with this incompetent organization for months. this is the most frustrating financial services company with an absolutely useless online portal and an endless loop for its contact phone number. AST’s handling of their business is beyond negligent and is, quite frankly, abhorrent. You cannot get any answers from their customer service emails either.

I have had some fairly complex questions regarding an estate. Some people have bent over backwards to help me Chantal among them. However, for the most part they just keep reiterating what I know and what one person says usually contradicts what someone else says. One person I spoke to said there are no supervisors available after 4 p.m. despite others telling me they are checking with their supervisor in the evening, another gave me information I knew was wrong and questioned why I did not believe her. Forget sending emails they fall into a black hole and you never hear back.

I've been trying to transfer my deceased mother's stocks for a year. The first time they said they never received the paperwork. The second time I sent everything by registered mail. Then I waited and waited. I finally called and spoke to someone who told me the transfer had been denied. I asked why I hadn't heard from then regarding any issues with the paperwork and they said I should have received a letter. I did not.I asked why it was declined and was told a signature was missing from one of the forms. They emailed me the forms again and told me to once again send in my mother's death certificate, power of attorney paperwork, etc. even though I'd already sent it twice. Unbelievable.Customer service gives contradictory information. I'm certain that this will not be resolved any time soon.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Happy I finally have my assets out of the control of this company. It took me years to have my shares transfered to my bank where I can better manage them. Basically, they make so many mistakes and excuses its infuriating. AST customer service know nothing and can be rude. The company loses certificates in the mail then you just wait and wait for months. It feels like your money is being held hostage by AST. Maybe this is why they changed names to TSX Trust Company.

If I could give a 0 star rating I would. No one answers the phone, I am on my 2nd week now of calling and being put in on hold hell. The robot says you will be called back - if you actually get a call back it is from someone in the US that can't help you. Forget someone answering an email - they dont do that either.

To echo everyone else's reviews here, getting someone on the phone is like pulling teeth. It feels a bit like my money is being held hostage due to the lack of customer support. I give two stars instead of one because on the rare occasion that I do get someone on the line, they're at least friendly and helpful. Don't expect your calls to be returned.

A disgusting organization that has website links that don't work, telephones that are never answered, calls that re not returned. No credible company or person would have anything to do with these people. They are so bad the securities commissions and stock exchanges should require all listed companies to move their business elsewhere.

Utterly horrible to deal with -- if I could post this with zero stars I would have. Have called them numerous times over several weeks and have yet to have a live person actually answer despite waiting for extended periods. Their default inquiries" email address is almost as bad

I believe AST has shared all the reports I requested. They've been excellent with information sharing and continue to do well.

No one answers phone calls at this company. I just want to login to my ANSWERLINE account to get my tax information. I've made at least 8 phone calls, which are just voicemails because no one answers. I submitted the online email form and it said it'd be 5 business days (which is a long time for an email response!) and it's been 7. No answer. I'm also a client of Computershare and they are 5 stars compared to this place.
