Dunbar Memorial Pre-School

My daughter has absolutely LOVED her time here for the past few years. Dunbar Memorial has a great space for the kids, in the community centre... and the entire outdoor grounds to run around and explore including forest fields and playground. Really special. As a parent participation school (each parent takes on a small role) the fees are VERY reasonable compared to other preschools.

My son joined the 2s program here on Fridays and it has been so great! It's his first drop off class and he's loving it. The teachers go above and beyond to make the 2 hours fun and engaging. It's definitely a highlight of his week!

Dunbar preschool has been a godsend for us. We signed our daughter up sight unseen before we moved to Vancouver and we completely lucked out with Teacher Carly and Tomomi. They are so caring and loving with the kids and have created such a welcoming and friendly environment that my daughter's face lights up every time she arrives at school. The play-based curriculum has really impressed me and I admire how they manage to integrate learning with play throughout the day. We highly recommend it!

Dunbar Memorial Preschool has enriched the lives of our whole family. We were new to Vancouver, and found a welcoming community of kids and parents here. The teachers are excellent and our son is always happy to go to preschool. The setting in the community centre means that we have regular contact with other members of the local community.I was nervous about the parent-participation aspect but have found that I've benefited enormously (and learned a lot) from the experience.

We have LOVED being a part of Dunbar Memorial preschool for the past 5 years and will be sad to leave. We moved into the neighbourhood not knowing many people and found Dunbar Preschool to be a great community where we have met many life long friends (both kids and adults!). The play-based programming at Dunbar preschool has provided an excellent foundation for our children to transition into kindergarten and most importantly it has provided them with the understanding that learning is fun!! The bright, big open space that the preschool is located in allows for many fun indoor activities on rainy days such as hockey, bike riding, etc. And, being located in the community centre is also a bonus since we have taken advantage of the open gym after preschool let's out and the drop-in child minding when needed!
