Bowen Windows

Our windows were installed 32 years ago. We had double and triple glaze windows installed and not one seal has leaked. Today, we had weather stripping replaced on a few windows and roto gear on one window. That’s a quality product and professional installation.

I just wanted to drop a note about the excellent service I got from John D. at Bowen Windows. I was having an issue with a Lowen door that Bowen had supplied 17 years ago. John not only diagnosed the problem remotely from a couple of pictures, but also supplied the part I needed to repair the door and showed me how to effect the repair. The repair went smoothly and the door is operational again. Thanks to John, I didn't have to pay for an extravagant onsite service call.I will definitely recommend Bowen Windows to all my friends.

I'm a full time caregiver for a mother in a wheelchair with dementia, I don't have many respite hours in a week, and I don't like wasting my time.I went to the store looking for a good quality front door in August, spoke to Joe about what we wanted. We knew what we were looking for in a door and narrowed our search to 2 doors options, the hardware, multi point locks, and paint colour. I gave Joe my business card with my email and phone number. I followed up our meeting with an email of my own with the confirmed measurements of my front door and again listed our wants in an email that same day. After Two weeks, I sent another email and called, leaving a message. I call again and got him on the phone when he proceeded to look-up the information in his system and give me a verbal quote over the phone but did not follow it up with a written quote, as agreed. I was interested in their door if I could get it written up! I wrote again to ask for a confirmation of what he verbally quoted me. Again nothing in reply. They never made it to our home to measure and confirm with a contract.I return to the store a second time spoke to another sales associate who guaranteed me Joe would call me back, or he would himself that same day. Again nothing.This organization is interested in large contracts, working with architect or designers or builders and simply don't have the time or energy to respond to individual home owners. This was not my first experience with them. They are costly but they have nice product if you can get them to quote on a job and that only if its worth it to them to do so.Ottawa has other very good suppliers with custom doors that are happy to provide great products without all the hassle you get from this organization. It not worth your time to include them in your bid process. We asked 3 suppliers for quote and we moved on with the other two.

The team at Bowen could not have been more helpful. We have a heritage home and wanted to install new windows that we're in keeping with the age of our house.We sat with them and the owner Jim walked us through the process of what style and type of windows would look best.Amazing experience and we have recommended to all our friends.

Don't throw your money away

If we could rate this company as a zero we would.We received a quote from Mike Bowen, co-owner of Bowen windows, of approximately $10,000 to replace some existing windows. We had questions on the quote but our emails to Mr. Bowen went unanswered. When we tried calling, he was never in and our messages were either not conveyed to him or he chose not to return our calls. Reluctantly, a few months later, we decided to approach Bowen again because there was no other distributor of the particular windows we wanted in Ottawa. This time, we requested a quote as directed by Bowen to their general email account. We have never received the quote nor has anyone responded to our follow-up phone call.We have never dealt with a company so uninterested in making a sale. Perhaps $10,000 is not enough money to get this company’s attention.

Great windows

Absolutely first rate experience. Mike Bowen in sales guided me expertly, helping me make good choices throughout the process. He was patient, gave sound advice, and I never felt any pressure. Highly recommended, especially if you’re going for a top-quality product. In my case I chose (Canadian made) ‘Loewen’ and am very happy that I did.

Scheduled an appointment and never showed up. Wasted 1/2 day off work and rescheduled. The salesman was friendly but the quotes was way more expensive than the other two quotes.

Exceptional. Extremely pleased with new Loewen windows - beautiful quality - and Anderson screen door, installed to perfection, including new interior trim and exterior cladding. With many thanks to Mike Bowen and Baird (installer).
