Lived here for 8 years. When I moved in there was a waiting list to get in. Now they're barely half filled. Why do you wonder? Despite the reasonable rent prices for military folk, the place is horribly run. They charge for just about every thing you ask of them after hours if they don't agree that it's an emergency (including noxious gas in your basement). The standards they set for your home's cleanliness you moving out are atrocious and nearly impossible to meet, so they make you pay for a cleaner to come in. They also make you pay around $400 if your lawn isn't up to par and then don't use the money to repair it. People have suspected the management of foul play for years in this place and it's for good reason. If this organisation wants to get more soldiers living here they need to do the following:1. Make cleaning the home after you move out part of your rent (like $10 a month would cover it) and lower the standards for cleanliness.2. Upgrade the homes. Central AC would be a good start. Also buy better materials for flooring.3. Treat your clients better. They have enough stress day to day in the military and with their families, don't exacerbate it by making their home a burden as well.4. More community based upgrades. Each spring have a pile of sod and seed for upgrading the homes for those who need it. Also, a community shelter for parties and such would be great and generate a bit of revenue as well.I loved this place when I moved in mainly for the rent (it was $350!). But when you jack up the price every year and give your tenants a hard time it's not a welcoming place for a military community. The local schools are closing down because of lack military presence and the way these homes are run is why.

We moved into our new home in Feb 2023. Chris and the office staff were wonderful from the beginning. So welcoming and honestly made things run so smoothly. So grateful for the warmth and kindness we were given, and happy to be in our new home :)

Have been in psp housing ottawa for about 9 years, the units are run down, mold, rotting floors, flooding, toxic paint, cracks in the walls and ceiling. But management treating the military families like criminals, and constant harassment tops the list. You live in jail, your kids are not allowed to color on your front steps with chalk as housing considers that graffiti, if your child leaves a bike by your front door, you better believe it you will have a letter threatening you with a 70 dollar fine. The environment is hostile towards the tenants. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES MOVE IN

CFHA sets rules in place but doesn't enforce them. Additionally, after a complaint about the quality of life for animals n a neighbouring unit was filed, nothing was done on their part, not even a unit inspection, and they stated we're monitoring the situation". Not sure how they do that being 100% uninvolved. Convenient

Overall good experience living in our PSP House. Stayed for 15 months. Customer service from the office was always polite and quick to respond. We didn't have any issues with our unit, so I cant comment on the speed that repairs are done. The only thing that I would comment negatively on is the standard of cleaning they expect upon march-out. I have no issues cleaning the unit to a certain standard, but I would expect to have taken the unit in that same condition.

Lost keys and went to ask if they could unlock my house for me so I wouldn't have to wait for the husband for three hours and they refused unless they charged me $35. Fair? enough. Asked if I could take the key over, unlock it, and then bring it back myself. Nope. Then when I went to charge my phone because I needed a way to contact my hubby, Mr. Gregoire walks past, asks if I can be helped, and when I say I can't be and explain my situation, he then turned around saying I was using his hydro to charge my phone and I shouldn't be.Sure it's affordable housing in Ottawa, but you get what you pay for. Unfortunately, the low costs means charges for every accommodation, snarkiness, and a can't-help-you attitude. If you don't think you'll be posted anytime soon, go with a mortgage.P.S. rent is no longer $350. It's closer to $900+.

Lived in PSP for year and half-ish. Great experience so far. Two seperate occasions I was out of area and had to call after hours for the wife. One was smoke alarms and other was door sticking causing lock out. After hours maintenance man was there within 20 mins both times and resolved the situation. Great service, great neighborhood.

Not a safe place to live for queer community members. They are bullies, they come into your unit and talk down to you when you have a work order. Ray yells at tenants in their back yards. They harass you over ever tiny things like whipper snipping every week, if you're on their target list. Do not move here. Their units have mice and mold, they do patchy work to put a bandaid solution in place. They don't do snow removal on walk ways, so if you need a wheelchair or crutches, you will not be able to access the units. If you remove the snow yourself they put snow piles there. Wost living units I've seen. Worst managed, worst humans to deal with.UpdateWater coming through electric panel is not considered an emergency to PSP and we had to call the fire department. They also give notice for entering unit, ask me to be home with my large dog then dont show up, waisting my time and loss of wages, than act like they did nothing wrong. PSP housing has always been great every time I had to deal with them. Super fast service (faster than other renting company), nice personnel and unbeatable price. People really like to complaints about them but whitout CFHA and PSP housing we will not be able to find something that nice for that cheap and please remember people treat you the way you treat them.
