Oh dear, two weeks ago the cod was so crispy.. It was outstanding!!! But one week later the cod was mushy and under cooked.. My guests were disappointed as was I.

Ordered 2 piece cod, one of the top restaurants I've eaten fish and chips at. It just tasted... Fresher! I got exactly what I expected, very fast service, and the AC was nice considering it was 30 degrees out! Great first time experience, I will be back for the upgrade to halibut or seafood appies next time!

Fresh, juicy fish with an incredible, thin, crispy, well seasoned batter. Cole slaw was decent, but too peppery. For the next level, everything else should be more fresh. Invest in digital marketing and ads, use that revenue to hire additional staff to make fresh fries to order and have daily made fresh tartar sauce. With Trollers closing down, you have a unique window of opportunity to establish your shop as the best fish and chip shop in Nanaimo.

This place is amazing, in a mini mall and their 2 piece cod and chips feeds 2 people easily and is far superior to ocean front restaurants that are twice the price. This is our go to for a fish’s and chips takeout. Give this place a try.

I'm not sure how these guys compete with other restaurants on the island. Ordered 2 piece Halibut and chips, tasted like solid oil!!Look at the image....you can see my hand through....yes through the napkin.Total waste of $25.

I had the two pieces of cod and chips(22.00) the fish was a little overcooked. The batter was light and crispy the way I like it. The staff where pleasant and friendly.

This place is currently open only for takeout. To say they have large portions is an understatement. The fish portions are twice the size of other places and same holds for the fries. There's quite a bit of oil so you'll want to get extra napkins to soak up the oil from the fish and fries. The batter is crunchy and tasty. It's a good idea to order the pickens which are the fish version of chicken nuggets. I however did not like their tartar sauce or coleslaw. It did nothing to enhance what was very good fish and chips. So we brought some home, put it into the toaster oven with paper towels to soak up the oil, got the tartar sauce I bought at Whole Foods and had a wonderful meal.
