Nick's Small Engine Service

This guy is a crook. My dad went there to repair his snowblower and the guy sold him parts to repair it ($18 worth). Then charged him $40 to diagnose it and we left it overnight and came back the next day and were told he can't fix it. My dad paid the diagnostic fee and asked to return the part since we can't use it now and he said no refunds. So now after being out $58, we have no snow blower and some parts we can't even use! Why would you charge us for parts you can't even install! This just shows he had no idea what needed to he done and probably broke the snow blower more overnight and just told us he can't fix it. Makes no sense why he wouldn't refund the parts. This makes it really hard for smaller shops to be trusted which is unfortunate. Making a bad rep for mechanics in Oakville which isn't what this town needs.

I first dealt with this shop several years ago. They were much faster at repairing my snow blower than the other guys in town and the price was reasonable. They store your equipment indoors, not outside as others do.I have since bought a garden tiller from them. Nick spent time discussing my needs and he recommended a Husqvarna. He assembled, tested and delivered it to my house, charging only a bit more than the Big Box Stores". If you want the lowest price

Just brought my lawnmower in for some carburetor work and asked them to give it a tune up too (oil change, plug, filter, sharpen the blade etc...). They got it running right and they let me know it didnt need a tune up yet (oil was still clean and blade was still sharp, etc...), talk about honest! ..... Customer for life and highly recommended!

I Have been a client for Nicks for the past 8 years.They are very honest knowledgeable & trustworthy company.I have had many types of equipment repaired there with no issues.As well I have also purchased new & used equipment from Nicks.Never an issue..

I have used Nick twice already for mower and snowblower. He informed me that today’s ethanol based fuels aren’t ideal for machines, and unfortunately did cause damage to mine. He showed me how to properly store machines when not in use. I even had a warranty issue, he picked up my machine no problem and returned it in a timely fashion.

Great people, swift service, honest assessment and estimate and work performed. Super happy with my two snowblowers and will be back with the summer toys soon. Thank you!!

HUSTLER!Got an old chainsaw repaired there for 200$. One would argue it was a bad investment from the start, but in juts trying to hold on to things vs trashing everything all the time.After 3 cuts, the chain came off while running, picture that!The bolts were loose, the cap came off...Chain is finished as it was hitting the metal casing...! and I lost a bolt.I bring it back asking for help.They call me back a week later saying it's ready (no mention of charges, and no authorization to perform the work again).They wanted $80 out of me again, despite a 90 day parts and labour warranty" disclaimer and their invoice."we cant cover for user misuse"...again: i did 3 cuts!We then wiggle it down to $40.Morale of the story:- I should have just bought a new saw.- I guess you cant trust that small businesses have more pride in their work.- Nick preferred hustling another $40 out of me than getting good publicity.Advice:- Before you leave something there

I brought my lawnmower there two years ago for a general tune up. I had done nothing with it myself over the course of numerous years as I am not mechanically inclined. The lawnmower did not perform any better after servicing, which was disappointing because I obviously hoped it would have improved the sputtering engine that happened often, amongst other issues. Even a basic function such as cleaning the dirt-caked air filter wasn't performed.The positive is that I have taken to learning how to troubleshoot the mower and perform general maintenance such as oil changes and more. Save your money and learn it yourself. There isn't anything that you cannot fix through YouTube videos.

0 Stars! ( I had to put one star or it wouldn't post) This place is a total rip off. They told us it would be $300 to fix a leaf blower that was $200!!! We instructed them to replace the pull cord and vent and give it back. We had left a $37 deposit. We went to pick it up and they claimed we owed them a balance of $76!!! I told them that we had never been told that it would cost this and they claimed they had. Female employee cat called that they don't work for free!! I can't get over their greediness. We will be talking to Lowe's about this as they recommended them. They will appreciate hearing that owner said Lowes sells junk"! I hope this review dissuades people from going here. I wish they were bright enough and had the integrity to know when the customer really was right in this situation. Such bad business practice. Shame on Nick's Small Engine Service!!!"

Here’s what you can expect: attitude, lack of professionalism, atrocious customer service, overpriced parts, over priced labour, poor integrity and workmanship, and extensive wait time in the whole process. This shop is a ripoff, and they will take your machine apart with total disregard and they have no time or respect for their customers. Save your precious time, avoid the guaranteed and promised agrevtion this place offers; take your money, equipment and business elsewhere. One star is just for purpose of leaving a comment. This business should be reported to the BBB.
