Please use caution when hiring this hall for weddings. A wedding venue is something you do have to book a decent amount of time in advance. The venue itself is great and the prices are very reasonable. However, I had hired this venue and only handed in my contract and money. Nothing else was done or discussed passed that. Unfortunately life happens and my relationship ended so I had to cancel the wedding. It DOES say in the contract that deposits are not refundable. My issue is that it was quite soon after the deposit was paid that the wedding was called off. No one had to do any work at that point. We hadn't even had a meeting yet other than the initial venue viewing. I couldn't get any of my deposit back which seems a little unreasonable seeing as how the only thing that had been done was me handing over money. I lost over $1000 which they got to just completely pocket.

I used this venue to host my dad’s celebration of life. I came to the hall fairly last minute and staff were incredibly accommodating with great communication and prices. Claudia went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and there were no surprises. I would highly recommend booking events through here. X

We rented the lower floor of this hall for a corporate event open to the public. The hall is ideal and very reasonable. Even though we did not use the upper floor, it also seemed like a very nice venue. Claudia and her team prepped our venue in advance and provided all the necessities in advance and were extremely friendly and helpful.

I attended a wedding there just a few weeks ago, and I helped the Bride & Groom with the hall decor. The staff at the hall were really accommodating and very, very, pleasant people. They went out of their way to ensure it all came together nicely. They put on a fantastic meal too! Everything was yummy! Lots of parking. Very accessible. I would highly recommend this hall for any special occasion.

This hall is a hidden gem! Charming space for a wedding, birthday party, etc. with beautiful lighting, ample parking, clean washrooms and the price is very competitive compared to other venues I viewed (I got pricing from about 10 different halls in Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Markham/Stouffville and Scarborough and I'd rate Shriners one of the tops for being both beautiful and reasonably-priced). It easily accommodates 150+ people in the main hall (which has a dance floor) plus there is a lower hall you can rent. Disclaimer: I didn't end up hosting my event here as I needed a slightly larger space but Angela (the event administrator) was extremely kind and helpful throughout the entire process even taking me through the hall a couple times while I was trying to decide on the venue and she was quick to answer all of my emails. I would definitely consider this venue for future events and recommend this space to anyone looking to host an event.

We recently had an event here and from beginning till the end everything was perfect.Karen and all the other staff were lovely to deal with and very patient.Will definitely use them again.

I am hiring this venue to do my wedding in August 2020. Very fair pricing and beautiful inside and out. Wes has been awesome in communication and willing to do everything he can for us. I hear the catering is amazing and can't wait to try it. This hall made. me feel extremely lucky for choosing them and I can't wait to see how even more beautiful on the wedding day.*UPDATE *What can I say, how about 5 stars is not enough for this venue. The team they have are amazing. Karen makes some of the best food I have ever had. Janice outdone and outshines anyone I know with decor and Claudia made sure everything goes without a hitch. My God these ladies are something else and I love them all. Thank you so much for giving me the wedding of my dreams.

I was so stressed out about my wedding as we had to postpone it due to Covid. Claudia was there for me every step of the way. She made sure everything ran smoothly. Janice decorated the hall to be unrecognizable. It was such a beautiful and stress free ceremony.

I had THE BEST experience with the Shriners Banquet Hall Manager Claudia and staff. They were helpful and friendly. We organized the wedding in 5 weeks. It was The most wonderful day of my life. It was everything that I wanted.
