This is where I live and I absolutely love it!! I was moved here after being homeless on the streets of Vancouver, housed in an absolutely discusting SRO on the Granville Strip downtown, and lastly I was in a house fire in the city of New Westminster. I cannot tell anyone who will listen how great I feel being granted this incredible opportunity. It has lifted me up and brought me out of depression and made me feel so safe here. Thank u's go out to my housing team, The Lookout Society and E. Frey, the lovely people who operate this modular home building. The all female building allows me to feel safe while I get my life back in order. The support staff are my angels and go above and beyond on a daily basis keeping it a special, fun and friendly place to live, and learn, how to be a contributing member of society again. I cannot say Thank you" to everyone involved in the building and maintenance of Mazarine Lodge enough. I think this is a great place to live and we are building a community healing garden behind the building to hopefully give back to the community of Queensborough and New Westminster. My only complaint would be that we are not allowed to have guests

Today I had to leave my unit because I couldn't breathe. There is one window at both ends of the hallway and they don't even open. They were designed not to open. There are no air vents on my floor. I called staff because I could smell cigarette smoke even before exiting my unit. I had to leave my unit because I couldn't breathe. This certain tenant was banging their stereo bass through my wall. Not from beside me but from two doors down. I guess rules don't apply to this person. They've done whatever they wanted since I've been here. Regarding the smoking staff claim 'We don't know where the smoke is coming from'. That's a laugh! Staffs drug of choice seems to be gaslighting. I had to leave my unit because my lungs ache. Staff here have no regard whatsoever for human life. I come back a few hours later and the stink is even worse. I opened the door I could smell it in my unit. Now it was pot and cigarette smoke and cheap air freshener. The fan outside this person's unit blew the stink in my unit. I called staff and the person who answered said 'They aren't even in their unit right now'. This staff member had zero empathy for my medical condition. This place is so abusive and this particular staff has used gaslighting on more than one occasion. If you are a nice person who wants to do better in life then don't live here. I have put my life on hold for this jungle environment. The people who stay here the longest break ever rule they can. I feel so abused since living here. Health and safety aren't a priority at Mazarian Lodge. Covering up the truth and lying is rampant among staff. They have zero compassion. It's extremely sad. Someone needs to step and do something for the vulnerable people that live here. Everyone here is at risk.

They really need to hire an actual security guard here. Then maybe the women that work here would feel safer. The security guard could buzz people in and the women that work here could actually support" the people that live here. If I worked here I wouldn't feel safe but then again staff here tolerate bad and disrespectful behaviour when they shouldn't. If people aren't corrected when showing bad behaviour it will be more difficult for them to find a place to live later on. Then they will end up right where they started. They need to learn proper social skills. Some people have lived here for over a year or more and haven't seemed to learn anything. They should have mandatory courses for persons that can't seem to control their behaviour. It's really hard to rebuild your life when people that live her are allowed to be abusive. It's not right."

This place is so abusive. People are allowed to yell up and down the hallways at midnight and bully other residents. If someone is drunk all the time it doesn't give them an excuse to do this. They were putting on a show for a staff member who isn't usually here at this time. I guess if your pathetic enough you can get away with anything here.
