From the moment I took a workshop with Carmen, I knew that I wanted to study the art of flamenco under her should I have the chance. Learning with Carmen remains a wonderful and fulfilling journey for me. Not only does she teach choreography but she also focuses on music theory and rhythmic elements, which I feel are key in understanding the true essence of flamenco. Each class is packed with her creative energy and her passion for the art of flamenco. What I love about her teaching style is that she is patient, fearless, and energetic!

Carmen is a very patient and knowledgeable teacher and a brilliant passionate dancer. Her classes are fun but challenging at the same time! I'm looking forward to many more classes here and highly recommend Carmen's classes to anyone who wants to learn Flamenco dance.

I have danced & sung with Carmen many times over the past 15 years and I can say without hesitation that she is hands down one of the best Flamenco Dancers and Teachers there is! She oozes talent, passion and creativity.She is kind and inclusive of all body types, abilities and levels. Carmen believes in a holistic approach that incorporates dance and music and history in every class and experience. If you have ever been curious, don’t hesitate to sign up for a class with her. And if you’re a serious dancer, she will challenge you and help you connect your body to your soul. It is exhilarating!Also, if you ever have the chance to see Carmen perform, GO! Dancing at Compagñia Carmen Romero school immerses you in Spanish culture with excellent Flamenco dance instruction where you study both technical and artistic foot, arm and hand movements. Carmen also gives you a behind the scenes explanation of Flamenco, the music and it’s rich history. To top it off, a guitarist plays live music at some lessons. It’s the real deal.

A great studio for beginners and advanced students.The studio itself has 2 rooms, one large and one small with large mirrors. All classes are incredibly hands on and include extensive guided instruction for all students. All the people there are lovely and very friendly. Probably the best studio in Toronto!Viva Compania Romero!!

Compañia Carmen Romero is an amazing dance school. Carmen individualizes her teaching style depending on the students level so it’s easy to keep up if you’re a beginner.Her passion for flamenco shows in her movements and the classes are so fun and engaging!Highly recommend!!

I haven't taken classes with Carmen in Toronto but I have in other places and she is an excellent teacher. She creates a very supportive and welcoming environment that is suitable to all ages and levels. She brings the same passion with which she dances to her teaching. Highly recommended.
