Active Orthopedic Solutions

Active Orthapedics was a very positive experience. The staff Ellie was informative through and very pleasant to work with. I will be returning for all my health care aids.

General rule of thumb, when a company refuses to honor a return of an item that was purchased the day before(and not used) its time to move on from that company. In this incident my wife was hassled for returning an item that was not a fit for our son, AND not the item she ordered.....Using bullying tactics, attempting to use a fake contract as a reason for not give her a full return, then agreeing to pay once they foolishly realized there is no contract, only to find that they would only do a refund by e-transfer at the end of day, which did not happen until my wife had her grandfather call and complain the next day, then at that point it is time to move on from that company for one that better appreciates the importance of customer service and adhering to the customers needs. I hope this is taken as constructive criticism on how to improve customer service within this specific organization as most people rely on the expertise of these organizations to provide them with the best fit for themselves or their love ones.

I broke my ankle and was having problems adjustingUsing crutches as I am 55 and have never used them before. The girl at Active Orthopedics suggested a scooter they had ,specially made for people with casts. She measured me up to fit the scooter. She believed it would make my life much easier to get around my home. She could not have been more right. My life improved greatly. I now can get all over the house and not rely on others so much. My independence is back. My thanks goes out to the friendly staff for their knowledge of their products and the way they treat their customers. I greatly recommend this place for anyone in my situation. Thanks again for giving my independence back.

I have been coming here for the past 5+ years. Have always been treated with the utmost respect, courtesy and patience. Starting from Colleen at the front desk who always greeted everyone with a smile and a friendly hello. To Chris who patiently worked with me to fit my legs with braces. Always friendly, smiling and great sense of humor. To Mihai, who is the worker behind the scenes making the devices and working diligently to make all who come there for help, feel better. I feel fully respected and I really appreciate these people who go above and beyond for others. Thank you for your dedication!!!

Received my compression socks here a couple of weeks ago. Very satisfied with the attentiveness, knowledge, and kindness of all the staff. Will definitely be coming back.

I had my orthotics stolen a few weeks back at Gord Downie pier. Kris and her team were absolutely first class. Kind, helpful, generous and very knowledgeable. I had a new pair of orthotics in a short time. Highly recommended! Thank you for your help.

I’m writing a review about my terrible experience at active orthopaedic solutions on princess street.My 4-year-old son had braces made at active orthopaedic solutions on princess street. One out of the 2 braces had to be fixed right off the bat because it didn’t fit properly. Once it was made again we had to go back as the brace they had to make again did not fit properly and was giving my son blisters. Finally after weeks of waiting to have 2 good braces we had a hard time finding shoes to fit over the braces. I asked active orthopaedic solutions if they could do anything to help. We went in for another appointment they measured my son’s feet and together we picked a pair of new balance shoes off of the new balance website to be ordered for my son.When the shoes arrived at the store my husband took my son in to try them on. According to my husband they seemed to struggle to get the shoes on his feet but as they are professionals and do this for a living my husband trusted them, paid for the shoes and took them home.When I saw the shoes immediately I noticed they are not the shoes I picked out on the new balance website but shoes that were about twice the price. They also had laces instead of the velcro ones I picked and the employee at active orthopaedic solutions had replaced with elastic laces.My husband and myself both tried to put the shoes on our sons feet and we were not even able to get his feet into the shoes. I called active orthopaedic solutions and told them I need to bring them back for a refund they said to bring them in. When I brought them into the store and 4-5 employees including the manager ganged up on me saying they they tried the shoes on his feet and they they were fine. They also told me I was going to be charged a holding fee of $20 for the shoes. I told them I was not informed about this fee. The manager looked though my son’s file trying to find something they insisted I signed. They never found the form as I never signed one.After everyone at the desk was done with making comments trying to refuse the return they agreed to take the shoes back. The only way the would do a refund is by sending me an etransfer. I left the shoes and went home. They never sent me an etransfer that day. I called and asked for an update and they said by the end of the day. That did not happen. I called the next morning and asked again about the etrabsfer and they blew me off again. It took my grandfather calling them for the manager to finally send me my money back almost 24 hours after they had the shoes in their possession.

The people who run Active Orthopedics are knowledgeable and attentive. The service is phenomenal. There is a multitude of products that make life easier for those living with a disability. I have been going for years and will continue to do so.

Terrible service. Wheelchair user/veteran with a broken arm here. Tried to drop by ahead of my appointment to see if it was worth spending another week in Kingston for it/speak to someone in person and see what they had off the shelf (first person I spoke to said tha would be first before something custom, only reasonable I find out if its worth it. They didn't even attempt to help opening the door, and I was immediately and rudely told they didn't have anyone looking around" unless they had an appointment. I didn't even get to say a word. They didn't even ask if they could help/what I was looking for. As scores of people are walking in and out (and i was the only one wearing a mask being considerate). None of the staff wore masks either. I don't know if they're just condescending to young disabled.folks but yeah

I've had a good experience in dealing with Active Orthopedic Solutions. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful with any of my inquiries about their products. I'd recommend them to those who require their services.
