One of the best inspectors in my opinion. I have had the experience to work with Robert for 2 properties and it was a pleasant experience each time. He puts his all into inspecting the properties and making sure his clients are either making the right or wrong decision. He goes in many detailand explains you everything throughout the process and is always there for any questions or concerns and advice. His reports are very detailed. I would recommend anybody needing an inspection to contact Robert. I hope we continue working together! Thank you again for your amazing work.

Robert's inspection helped us make the right decision – we walked away from a house that would have been a living nightmare to repair.Robert doesn't sugar coat anything. Like others have mentioned in the reviews, Robert's service consists of on-site inspection, report writing, and post-report receipt consultation. Robert was very thorough in his on-site inspection (which we followed along with him). The attention to detail in his easy-to-read report and follow-up consultation by phone enabled us to make an informed decision on required actions. Definitely recommend.

I used Robert Young, the owner of Montreal Home Inspection Services to inspect a home that I put in an offer to purchase. I was extremely satisfied with the service that was provided to me. The price that I paid was very reasonable too .He went into all the details, explained everything to me, answered all of my questions. I felt confident during the entire 2 hours plus inspection that nothing was left unchecked . His camera is state of the art, he carries and uses loads of tools and equipment with him during the entire home inspection. This is a person that is not afraid of getting his hands dirty during the job or doing hard work for his clients inspection.I received a follow up call just to make sure that I understood everything about the inspection and the huge report. Robert inspected our condo purchase. He’s extremely detailed and wrote an extensive report. Uses various types of tools and scanners. Both the seller and buyer realtor remarked they’d never seen someone so detailed as Robert.

We had Mr. Young for a house inspection and I couldn't have been happier with his services. He's extremely detailed and takes the time to verify every part of the house. He carried very modern equipment, such as a thermal camera to examine the moisture contents of the dry-walls. We followed him along the inspection and he shared many insights on what problems to look for. His report was quite detailed, with many pictures for reference and had a follow-up call with him to go over the results afterwards. It's also worth mentioning that he was quite responsive, always got back to me very quickly and kindly.

We had a strange experience with him. Many years ago. Honestly he’s agressive online so we waited before sending any reviews.The report was half completed but ultimately we needed a printed and pdf version of the report as there was an issue at the house we weren’t comfortable with and needed to officially walk away. He invited us to his place to review the report. Then when we asked that he email it. He had a bit of trouble with the PDF. We tried to help and he snapped at us. Told us his computer is state if the art and is the most powerful and a pdf takes time (it wasn’t and it doesn’t) It was strange. He stormed off. Threw our cheque back at us (which we obviously didn’t take back as he had done the work) and told us to leave. I was able to get the report on a usb stick in the middle of that chaos.Like I said it was really really strange and not the way you expect to be treated. When we did eventually find the right house we did not engage with him again.

I called Robert for an inspection of a duplex in CDN. Before I called, my google research showed Robert is one of the best rated inspector in Montreal region. After the inspection, I feel super confident to re-hire Robert and recommend him to anyone is serious about the quality of the inspection (and the price of the inspection). The whole inspection duration last about 2 hours and half for a duplex. Robert started by giving me a home inspection manual. Then he went on with basement and could point out right away potential issues per his substantial knowledge about those old properties; further more with his equipments (e.g., infrared cam), he showed me what could be the indicators of potential problems and recommendation for repair solution if there is one. He examined every doors, windows, outlets, plumbing, e-panels, basically everything that you can or cannot think of to examine. I have hired quite a few inspectors in the past, NONE have reached to the detailed level as Robert. We went on to examine the upper 2 floors, same process rinsed every corner of the building. During the process, he explained clearly and in details the inspection he was performing and pointed out issues if there was one. Then the roof and the exterior. I do not remember how many photos he took (maybe a few hundred -_-) and he would mark all the details with photos in his report. During the whole process, he was very patient, professional and knowledgeable.At first, his rate seemed not as cheap as someone recommended by the brokers. But his work broke into 3 parts: 1) on-site inspection; 2) the very very detailed reports; 3) consultation after sending you the report. It is not like some inspectors spent one hour with you and spit out a report from his laptop right after inspection. You can tell easily there have been tremendous efforts put into the analysis of the house from the details of the reports. Given all that, his rate is a huge discount vs what he offered. If you are serious about purchasing properties, you would be thankful for being lucky to get Robert as your inspector.

I highly recommend Robert as a home inspector. He was incredibly thorough and attentive to detail, and his down-to-earth demeanor made him a pleasure to work with. He identified potential safety hazards and provided helpful insights on maintaining and improving the condition of our home. I feel confident in the safety and upkeep of our home thanks to Robert's expertise. As a first time homeowner, it is such a relief to have an inspector that you know you can trust. Upon reading my review, Robert Young has asked that we “get to the facts” and that I submit a retraction.This is the timeline of events.Friday, Nov 25; We had hired Robert Young of Montreal Home Inspection Services to inspect a duplex in LaSalle. It commenced at 9:00 am as planned. It was a raining when the inspection started. Upon completion of the outside ground level and inside floor inspections it was raining and Robert informed us that due to weather, he could not inspect the roof. He stated it was unsafe to do so and that a wet roof hides flaws so it was best to do it on a dry day. He stated to the property owner and myself that would return on a nicer day and when he was feeling better (He had mentioned a few times that he wasn’t feeling well, likely due to a medication change). I did not ask for a return date because his health seemed to be the driving factor.Sunday, Nov 27; Two days after inspection, Robert texted at 1:00 saying “Report sent”. This seemed odd because I assumed the report would be held until the roof inspection was completed. I immediately texted back saying “ Thanks Robert, Hope the medication is working out better and the dizziness is gone. When can we schedule the roof?”. No response. I didn’t want to bother him as it was Sunday so I waited until Monday to email.Monday, Nov 28; Emailed Robert at 8:30 saying “Thank you for the report. The roof inspection is still outstanding due to the weather conditions on Friday. When are you available to complete it? We had rain last night so the roof is wet but the forecast for tomorrow is dry. Can we do it tomorrow?”. No response so I called him at 9:45 and left a voice message. Robert responded by email at 1:40 saying “Les. Please understand. There is nothing outstanding . The roof could not be inspected due to weather. I can not control weather. If you read the contract, I do not even have to mount the roof. It is totally up to the home inspector. If you wish me to return the fee is $125.00. It would be the same at in winter. Roofs can not be mounted unless dry and safe.”Note; I dispute Robert’s “Response from owner” remark that he “honorably offered a 3 day window to return for free” at time of inspection. He offered to return but I did not hear a time constraint attached. If he had made a time sensitive offer, I would have gladly accommodated any date that worked for him. And even of one assumes that Robert did put a 3 day time constraint that I didn’t understand, I still asked Robert for a date to do the roof within his supposed 3 day grace period. (on Nov 27 by text upon receipt of report and on Nov 28 by email). The first time I heard of this 3 day grace period was in his response by owner.Monday, Nov 28; Called Robert at 2:10 after reading his email. We discussed my recollection of what the property owner and I understood him to have said and he relented. He said he still wasn’t feeling well so Tuesday wouldn’t work but tentatively agreed to come on Friday Dec 2 at no additional cost.Thursday, Dec 1; Texted Robert at 11:27 to confirm inspection. No response.Thursday, Dec 1; Called Robert at 3:00 to confirm inspection. He said he was still ill and would keep in touch to reschedule. I mentioned the buyer was becoming apprehensive but I did not cancel the roof inspection as Robert seems to be hinting at in his response by owner.Friday, Dec 9; After a week with no communication I called Robert at 2:00 and left a message. No response.Monday, Dec 12; Called Robert at 11:00 and left a message. No response.Tuesday, Dec 13; Called Robert at 10:30. I inquired about his health and timing for inspection. He said that he still wasn’t feeling well and voiced weather concerns. When I mentioned that the weather was expected to improve later in the week Robert stated that the $125 fee would be required. I admit that I cursed and for that I am sorry but it was driven by frustration. 3 weeks had passed and we were clearly at a dead end.
