I had a Kerasilk Smoothing Treatment with Valerie - I’ve had this service done many times before at a different salon and wow, the difference in service and the overall result with Valerie was night and day! She knows her stuff and then some and did a phenomenal job! Valerie was a lovely person to talk to and shared what she was doing as she was doing it and why she was doing it. Can’t say enough about how happy I was with the service. The salon itself is beautiful and you can tell the owners are focused on everything being about the client. I loved the one on one service - Valerie did everything from hanging my coat up to seeing me off. Such a refreshing change from having multiple people work on you, and sometimes all at once! I appreciated her tidying up a couple of bits of hair that, once smoothed appeared longer than others. A nice touch for sure. Finally, it was nice to see that, even though we’re assured Covid is cancelled, Von Riesen are still super careful and following best practices to keep themselves and their clients safe!! Super happy with the service and the result and look forward to going back!

I was told to expect my hair cut to take an hour and a half.As a man, that’s absolutely insane. I get pretty much a buzz cut — but they charge by the minute, not the job.Strongly recommend avoiding this place.

While the haircut itself was good, they charged me an extra $30 for ‘initial consultation’ ??I went in for a regular haircut and dry, pretty standard services. I’m not sure why it would require the extra fee. Furthermore, when I initially called to make the appointment, they quoted me the charge of just the haircut, with no mention at all of the extra charge.In my opinion this is very misleading and poor practice. I will not be returning and sadly do not recommend this business.

I don’t like their idea on how they do their pricing. Their price depends on the hairstylist professionalism, experience and efficiency. The management should extend more help with their novices by providing proper training on how they can work confidently. We left the place very disappointed and felt not acknowledged until we got really upset. The haircut took almost 2 hours and still not too happy about the result.

Please be aware of this hair salon’s pricing!I had my first appointment with amelia. No complaints - she was very nice and easy to talk to.Because I was happy with my haircut, I bought a GC for my friend. Her hair is the same length as mine, so I bought a GC for the same amount I paid for my cut, including tip. But when my friend went to get her hair done, they charged her an additional $30.When my friend told me how much she paid, I called the owner and asked him why she was charged more, even though the cut took the same amount of time. The response I got was disappointing to say the least.The owner told me she was charged more because of consultation time for buying products, of which she spent $85 on.I explained to the owner that I felt them charging my friend more was unfair but he wouldn't back down. Charging people haircut time for buying products is bad business practice and deceptive.Please be aware that they might do the same to you! Not trust worthy at all.

I had a piercing done here and the experience was great! It was over quickly and pain-free. A friend of mine also had her ears pierced here and she had a great experience as well. Would recommend!

This place is pure class. I’ve been coming here since they opened (never thought to leave a review before!) and wanted to recommend them publicly after the beautiful work Valerie did to blend my greys and give me a modern look. She had to work hard to cover some dye I’d put in my hair myself and was meticulous in getting it right. I so appreciate the commitment to service and the values of the staff - it’s a great complement to the excellent hair design they practice.

Had the most wonderful experience with stylist Amelia. Knew exactly what I wanted and executed it perfectly. Beautiful salon space, amazing staff. Will be returning many times. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

I have been going to Von Riesen since they have opened and have Valerie as my stylist. I am always very pleased with my colour and style (love it every time). She takes good quality time to get your hair done perfectly. I truly appreciate that as this is quality service. Both Valerie & Paul are very professional and have an excellent salon.
