I was in town from Chicago for work and Sew What was able to put a zipper on a pull-over hoodie that I got from a concert. I was only in town for 4 days and they got it done before my flight back. The work was very well done, thank you for getting this done in such a timely manner!!

I've taken clothes here twice, both for dresses. The first was for a seam that was ripped in the side of a dress. They did excellent work but when I took it in they didn't write down a quote for me, just made a verbal guess at how much it would be, so I was surprised when I went to pick it up and it was about $15 more than I'd originally been told, which had already seemed a bit much to me for a small repair, but I let it go. This was a couple of years ago.Since they're so close to me, I decided to give them another shot when I needed a bridesmaid dress altered- hemmed, shoulder straps shortened, and the pads taken out of the bust, all fairly uncomplicated jobs. The woman who did the measuring was very friendly and did have me pay up front, which I was fine with; although again the price seemed a little high, I was willing to pay it. They never called me to tell me whether my dress was done, so I finally just decided to go in and find out since the wedding was looming close. Thankfully it was done- or so I thought- so I took it home, only to find out that they'd never taken the pads out of the bust. Again, the work they did do was excellent, but I could not wear the dress with those pads in. I was worried I wouldn't get the dress back in time if I took it back, and I didn't want to deal with potential arguing about it if they tried to make me pay more for a job I'd already paid for and they didn't do, so I decided to just do my own amateur job of it since it could be done from the inside of the dress where no one would see. Thankfully I was able to do it and my dress looks fine, but it's irksome to pay nearly what I paid for the dress in the first place in alterations and then for them to not even do everything they were supposed to. I've learned my lesson this time and will go elsewhere the next time I need alterations done.

My plastic zipper on my winter coat broke at the base. I asked if they could replace it with a metal one. So much better and you can't even tell it's a replacement.

We owe so much to this facility!!!. We arrived from The West coast of Canada for a hockey tournament and found that the wrong size Jersey had been ordered for my 11 yr old grandson goalie. We had an idea for alterations but needed a seamstress to do the work in a very short time. Sew What did an absolutely amazing job and had it ready in under two hours for team photos!!!!!. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Beware! I wish I could post a photo. I had a button sewn into my bridesmaid wrap dress. I ended up with four threads on the OUTSIDE of the dress In a square shape around the perimeter of the round button. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I first saw it. I went back in and asked if there was a mistake. To “fix” it, She said she could: First, remove the button. second, sew into the seam, similar to what she had done for ANOTHER unhappy customer with a wrap dress button mishap. I declined, because clearly, the quality of work here is horrendous. I requested the button be removed and I be refunded. Her response was “I never charged you for the button”. I prepaid $70 for a hem and a button and the best she could do was offer me $4 back. Unbelievable! The only pro about this place is the location and proximity to my home.

Incorrect store hours online. They close at 3pm Saturday. Drove all the way here only to find that out. Please update online hours!

This shop shortened 3 pairs of expensive jeans for me and did an awesome job! Some of the original bottom hems were a bit frayed but they still managed to make them look good. The work was done on time and reasonably-priced. The staff was competent and friendly. They did some really good leather work for me a few years ago, as well. I would definitely use them again.
