As our elderly little rescue dog came to the end of her life, we went to this clinic for help. They helped her, and us, tremendously, with incredible sensitivity and grace. We are forever grateful to Dr. Richelle and all the staff at Courtenay Vet Clinic. They are excellent at end of life care.

I went to today for a check up with my pretty anxious GSD and all the staff there were awesome. Even checked the area for any dogs so that my pup doesn’t get stressed out more hahah. And the vet took her time with my girl and was so awesome and patient !! Definitely a great place!!!

Only good things to say about Courtenay Vet Clinic. They squeezed my dog in when she needed urgent care and our usual vet was closed. I found all the staff to be helpful and patient. Dr. Kelsey Cunningham was a stand out! Very personable, knowledgeable and kind.

The vets themselves at this clinic have been wonderful, especially Dr Candace who was incredibly compassionate, understanding, and thorough. Dr Kelsey took time to email me when needed. There are several excellent vet assistants here too.However, I found that the communication with everyone else I dealt with was unclear. On one occasion a front desk assistant told me that my cat had renal disease (he did not!). On another occasion there was a communication breakdown about a change in my cat's medicine, and I was given the wrong information about what doseage to give him. Even after I talked to the manager and asked for a note to be made in my file to ensure that communication was clear, as my kitty experienced aging and had to go in for many tests, from day to day I would be told different things about what treatment options were available for my kitty, and never told why the options changed until I pressed for more information.None of this engenders trust.Most recently, while waiting to see the vet, I witnessed the front desk assistant gaslight not just one, but two customers, and use incredibly unprofessional language too (she told a customer to be grateful that they cut her dogs b***ls off). As a survivor of gaslighting abuse and bullying, I was incredibly triggered to witness this, and then to watch the front desk assistant laugh it off and complain about the customers once they had gone. I spoke to the manager about this and she said she'd talk to the front desk person, but quite honestly I don't know how someone with an attitude like that can be hired to work with either humans or animals.So overall, great vets, but beyond that I found that dealing with this clinic added to my stress during an already stressful time.Even though my kitty is at the end of his life I made the choice to transfer his care to a different veterinary hospital, for my own peace of mind and care.

We took our dog, Darby, a Border Collie, to Courtenay Veterinary Clinic for a spay operation. Dr. Candace preformed the operation. Darby went through it like a trooper and after 2 weeks, we have our little ball of energy back. I have to say everyone there was a delight to work with. The staff was courteous and polite. I went to Dr. Candace based on a recommendation and met her just briefly as she was very busy that day. I not only went to this clinic based upon a recommendation, their pricing is far better than the clinic we left. I hope to continue with Courtenay Vet Clinic in the future. Darby said she would go back for a visit!

The staff at Courtenay Vet Clinic are all very friendly and helpful. I have seen a few vets over the 15 years of my dogs life and Krista Huxham has been the very best by far. She is kind, compassionate and does a very great job at explaining things and giving treatment options. I am very grateful for the care she has shown my dog even though she just met him a week ago. I will gladly continue to make the 30 minute drive to bring my dog to see Krista and the rest of the staff at the Courtenay Vet Clinic.

My St Bernard didn't want to go on the scale, but thankfully the staff are total pros and we managed to get this puppy up and onto the scale without traumatizing the poor girl.
