The Royal Hotel

Came here for a weekend away with my husband. I've stayed in a lot of boutique hotels, and this one didn't really compare given the price range.The room was nice, but small.There were a few times we left to go for a walk and upon returning were questioned before we could get as far as the lobby. We were the only people approached like this. I can't speculate as to why this was happening, but I will say we were the only ones I saw being treated as such, and will just leave it at that.We also stayed for dinner at the restaurant and had the countylicious" menu. Our server was absolutely fantastic

Everything I've heard and read about this place was spot on. I only came for lunch, but would love to spend a few days here some time. The decor was gorgeous - lavish with an amazing back patio adjoining the pool.Service was impeccable - attentive, friendly, knowledgeable yet completely unassuming. Even though I showed up in my camping clothes, (looking less than well put together), I was treated like a valued guest. The meal was amazing, as expected and the suggested wine pairing was perfect.I can't recommend this place enough. Go. Stay. Eat.

If you want to experience quiet luxury, this is it. The VIP feeling without any pretentiousness. We stayed as a couple for 2 nights sans kids and it was absolutely glorious. No detail is left behind from the chic design, the quality of the amenities and linens, the level of individual service (thank you Alexis and Niall!), and even the Peletons in the gym. There are so many spots to tuck away with a local espresso coffee and just take in all that is the Royal Hotel. It was a true pleasure to stay and eat at this property and we can't wait to be back as soon as possible.

We travel a lot for both work and pleasure. Everything about this hotel was on point. The decor is extraordinarily, staff friendly, thoughtful & helpful. Rooms are well planned, comfortable & relaxing. Restaurant provides some of the best food I have eaten in my entire life. Flavours are harmonious, everything is perfectly seasoned. Can not wait to return!

Cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The service is so excellent as to be *restful*; food in the restaurant is very good and nothing is too much trouble. Fantastic attention to detail, like the fact that even appliances in the rooms match the general decor. You’ll leave soothed & refreshed.

Ontario's Riviera is how I would describe my two days, along with my wife, at The Royal in the heart of Prince Edward County. Why? Every detail of The Royal Hotel experience was thought out and brought to life with such beauty and made our experience so wonderful that we didn't want to leave the Hotel property. It's like you are walking into a high end design magazine but are welcomed like you are in a small town in Ontario where everyone knows each other - what a combination. The room was stunning and we loved that even though we faced Main Street the room was absolutely quiet because of the sound proof windows plus wood shutters right out of luxury hotels in Europe - everything was of the highest quality from the mattress, to the pillows and duvet to the Turkish towels in the washroom (yes I checked the labels) and we loved our fireplace. The meals were amazing - starting with breakfast with the most delicious in house baked goods and perfect barista made coffees which we ate on the back terrace where you could literally feel you were anywhere in Europe! We also had dinner (twice) on the rear terrace and the food was just delicious - we shared the Royal Burger and a Mushroom pizza with one of their delicious Gin / orange / elderflower cocktails and while we tried to resist the Royal Chocolate cake was worth the splurge! We enjoyed every moment of this Ontario jewel which was a wonderful base to explore other charming areas of the The County including Lake of the Mountain, and Wellington and Main Street Picton.

My mum and I visited for a delish cappuccino and cortado and enjoyed the almond and pistachio croissants. The dinner is OK.....to be honest I know the team (some from downtown Toronto) are capable of bringing more the menu. I wasn't too overwhelmed with the menu - it's an intro to Italian cuisine.

Luxurious. Beautiful hotel, great staff, insanely comfortable bed, perfect location.I want to highlight the restaurant manager Laura for the rest of this review - her impact on our vacation has been so great that it cannot go without thorough mention.Laura ended up serving our table for our anniversary dinner and we had one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. My partner and I have a combined 30 years of restaurant industry experience and so we naturally have a deep appreciation for impeccable service - and that’s what Laura gave us. We laughed and enjoyed the delicious food, perfect wine and amaro pairing suggestions (also from Laura) and we didn’t have a single crumb out of place on the table the whole time. Laura is hilarious, warm, engaging and upbeat while also maintaining a very genuine and down to earth conversation with us both.Laura is a gem. It isn’t easy to find people who really love the industry that are loving their work and leading their staff in a firm, compassionate, fun and informative way. We wish Laura nothing but continued success and sincerely hope her top knotch work at the Royal hotel restaurant is recognized.MERCI BEAUCOUP, Laura, for guiding us through the awesome menu and ensuring our anniversary was both romantic and fun. We appreciate your effort to make us feel special. And thank you for your effort to bridge a gap between our table and the kitchen!! A nice menu is just a nice menu until you feel the love that goes into its execution.We will be back for sure.

What a beautiful space! We had lunch on the patio, it was a perfect sunny day to eat local pickerel and fresh local asparagus. The food and service were both excellent, which is always a great combination. My next trip will hopefully include a stay at the hotel.

Amazing experience. We visit the County once a year and this will be our new spot. The staff go above and beyond in all aspects. Food and drinks are amazing. Rooms are quiet and comfortable. Family friendly. Beautiful, thoughtful touches just about everywhere you look. We couldn’t have better things to say about our stay.
