Roger has been hand building canoes for decades now. He brings a passion for fine canoe building, together with endless patience for the novice builder, and a sense of humour to everything he does. What an awesome course. In one day Roger helped my girlfriend and I make incredible black cherry canoe paddles. It was such an amazing class and he was extremely knowledgeable and patient. Such a great birthday gift.

Roger is wonderful. He has given me the pieces and the advice to restore two cedar-canvas canoes. He is always happy to talk canoes, which he knows inside and out (literally).

We had an excellent experience carving out our paddles! Under Roger's direction, we were able to take a slab of raw cheery plank wood and create quality canoe paddles that we will enjoy for years to come. Rogers experience and guidance had everyone in the class understanding his step by step process of crafting their very own canoe paddle.I would recommend this one day class to all of my outdoor enthusiast friends.Roger also offers classes on canoe building/maintenance and repair. I look forward to returning to Carlisle Canoe for a canoe build in the near future.

I would recommend Roger's paddle carving workshop to anyone with an interest in woodworking. Roger was gracious and patient with the attendees and gave instruction in a way that made the process fun and accessible to to all skill levels.It's clear that Roger is a real master craftsman, having the opportunity to tap into some of that skill was a true pleasure.

Roger is so warm and welcoming, and looking forward to seeing how our new gunwales look after we stained them ourselves.Can't wait to paddle in our newly restored canoe with Roger's TLC!

I contacted Roger out of desperation to get my kevlar canoe repaired two weeks before a camping trip. He was very accommodating and had it repaired quickly and charged very little. He also showed me a better way to rig the canoe on my truck which was very helpful. Thanks Roger!

So helpful and informative! I was looking for a quick repair to a cedar strip canoe but the comments and advice were worth the trip.
