My husband and I have moved back to Toronto 5 years ago, but still come to St Albert often to visit family and friends. Sanremo is our go to place when we are back in town and we are never disappointed! I usually do not write reviews, but when I was looking up the contact info to book a reservation, I was shocked to see a very damning one and I had to provide my personal review. First of all, how rare is it to have the owner of the restaurant be serving us, or cooking for us, or visiting and chatting with the tables on more than one occasion? Well in Toronto, extremely rare. Ermanno always greets us with open arms and treats us like family. He makes the effort to talk to every table and ask about the food and service. In reference to the 1 star review below, I kept asking myself while reading it; “why didn’t you say something?” Based on your comments, Ermanno did visit your table and brought a complimentary glass of grappa. You had every opportunity to speak up, and yet you kept quiet? Sanremo is a family owned restaurant and they pride themselves in their food and service. The least you could have done is given them a chance to make it right.Here is my personal, honest review; the food is always delicious, the service is friendly, welcoming and makes you feel like family, and the atmosphere is beautiful and romantic. Don’t let some bitter one star review steer you away from this gem!

The food here is very good. Quality ingredients made properly with lots of flavour. Reasonable price. The restaurant is very clean and has a nice atmosphere. This is the bad part of our review now. Our service wasn’t great. As being told the specials of the day, he would be interrupted by the bell from the kitchen and run off to deliver food in a half empty restaurant. It took 3 attempts to get the appetizer, pasta, and entree specials. A 5 minute break between each item. We ordered a bottle of wine at the same time as we ordered our entrees that never arrived. We ended up canceling it shortly after our meals arrived and they were doing the follow up “how’s the food taste so far”. Last of all, the wooden chairs are not comfortable. This was a tough review to write. When out on a date night and spending $150-$200 on a dinner for 2 you expect a bit more out of the place. I can’t say this enough though, the food was a definite 5/5 stars.

Very friendly staff, smiling faces. Hard working and very welcoming service. Exceptional food taste. Compared to other restaurants in town prices are comparatively low. Good quality and quantity food!

We drove by and decided to try it and it is by far the best place we have been to! The service was absolutely excellent and the owner came out and had a shot of the best liqueur with us. The waiter and owner checked on us and were very tentive to our needs. We never found ourselves asking for anything as they were on top of it throughout our time there.Their food was amazing and was extremely quick! Quality ingredients and food was made to perfection!!We will definitely be back and it was worth every dollar.

First time coming here and it was wonderful. We were seated quickly - luckily with Covid! Our food came quick and was delicious! We were asked many times how everything was and the server made small talk with us which was nice :) Ermanno came to our table before we left and checked in with us and gave us his card. Very friendly staff and welcoming environment! Plus look at this dessert!! Mmm.

I am not sure what the other reviews are talking about. This place was truly disappointing. My food wasn’t very good or very warm. My cocktail didn’t have any alcohol in it.

This is the best Italian food outside of Italy. Our favorite, the food, the service, and the atmosphere. You will not be disappointed the food is truly amazing and you taste the love that is added when they make it. We are booked for our anniversary dinner next week.

We just had an amazing experience at San Remo in st.albert. hands down BEST SERVICE we've had ever. Everyone there accommodated our entire family's needs.Fresh ingredients, prepared perfectly from the seafood dishes to the steak. Clean, friendly, classy.... Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back again.

This place is beyond fantastic!! Located in the heart of St.Albert, the small town charm of the walkable streets is inviting this incredibly warm atmosphere that is enhanced by the exceptional service and phenomenal food!! You really need to do yourself a favour and turn this place into one of your 'go to' places to dine!!
