The Country Lodge and Grand Ballroom

It's basically a banquet hall. Very rustic (very similar to the Old Pioneer Cabin on Scona Road but bigger). We were attending a wedding there. They also have an upstairs section to accommodate people who wish to do their wedding on site.The food was catered by in house staff (I believe the hall is run by people and/or organizations from the Polish community). Our menu consisted of roast chicken, Brussels sprouts, beans, mashed potatoes (infused with dill) and a wonderful chicken gravy. Salad and fresh buns also included.Because I was a guest, I have no idea what the per plate charge is and what other food options are available. I also don't know if the bar menu was created by the bride and groom or the bar management (selection was good by the way). However, based on the attractiveness of the facility and the food quality, I'd definitely put it on my list should I ever need such a venue.

Country lodge was all around amazing for our July 3rd,2021 wedding- From the beginning Elizabeth was super accommodating, friendly, and amazing to work with. We have had so many of our guests tell us it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding (the chicken, mashed potatoes, and perogies were phenomenal) and all the staff were so helpful, the location itself is perfect for getting cabs/ubers home, beautiful for photos, and lots of space outside. We are beyond happy we picked Country Lodge as our venue and would recommend it to everyone looking for a wedding venue!!

This is a great venue! Food is just as good as it was at my own wedding 16 years ago!!I think certain things could have been better communicated for this particular event. But all in all it was a good experience.

Just had my wedding there for 2022 and it went splendidly! The food was excellent and the Manager Elizabeth was truly a delight to deal with. Definitely recommend it as a wedding venue if you are looking for a rustic aesthetic but the convenience of still being in the city.

Elizabeth was great to work with however Adam was not. We were hoping to look at this venue for our wedding in 2023 however, when we called Adam to schedule a viewing, he was very difficult to talk to. He was impatient and rude. Asked for a “heads up” call an hour before our appointment, we did so, then he couldn’t bother to show up on time. We were there 10 minutes early then We waited 15 mins past our appointment time and he still was not there. We have other appointments so this is unacceptable. Hopefully this company can get their priorities and stuff together for future couples. Part of the mask Exemption program as well, this would have been nice to be notified about or have on their website as we are not going to be forcing our guests to get vaccines just for our wedding.To add to this review, Adam had messaged me then continued to call me numerous times after I had told him we were not going with this venue. As you can see in the screenshot, the time difference on when I messaged him compared to when he replied.

The lodge was awesome but the bride paid a lot of money and we have asked to turn on the air conditioner and they have refused and the lady behind the bar wanted to shut it down at 9:30pm and the bride didn’t want that! But for my experience was awesome and everything was phenomenal and the gravy was awesome and the building was gorgeous! Thank you Wawel Country Lodge for hosting my friend’s wedding!

This place is old, wood cabin structure and beaitiful. Very homey lots of yard and a great place to hold your event......like the wedding I attended. It really is a true gem hidden in the north end. At the end of a dirt road surround by the new #Yeg homes and neighbours. Hope if is never ploughed down! True Edmonton Heritage!

I was supposed to get married here last July and 2 months before my wedding I heard from another bride that this venue had cancelled all weddings and were being moved to this year. After multiple attempts to contact the people in charge I finally got through to find out this was correct. My husband and I did not want to change the date and we were told that was our only option. So after talking to a lawyer and writing them a letter we got our deposit back a few months later. I think this venue would have had so much potential for a great day had Covid not have happened but I'm sad that my husband and I were treated this way and had this unnecessary stress 2 months before our wedding day.

This venue is amazing for summer or winter weddings and events. It is very quaint and cozy, and just off the beaten trail so you feel like you're away from the big city while still being right on the edge of it near plenty of amenities. The staff was friendly and very fast with catering and bar service, and the food was spectacular! If you're in search of an intimate venue for any location, look no further!
