I have hesitated to leave this review for years because I do not like to be negative but feel it necessary for the sake of preventing other people from experiencing what I went through. Flo caused me the most excruciating pain of my life.I have received every piercing I have from her and despite them all having considerable issues due to improper placement, anatomical issues, etc, I continued to go to her out of convenience. I went to Flo to have my tragus jewelry replaced after having it for a year and it being healed, thinking this visit would be of no consequence. Flo did not have long enough bars in her studio to replace my jewelry and instead of telling me this and rescheduling, she put a too-short bar in and told me it was “snug” but wouldn’t be a problem. I went home only for my ear to start pulsing, swelling, and become extremely irritated and tender. When I felt my ear that night I assumed that the backing had fallen out, since I couldn’t feel it. It didn’t. Turns out, the bar she put was so tight that it cut off my circulation and caused my ear to swell around the backing, completely covering it. The next day I went in to her studio for advice and she proceeded to lay me down in her chair and prod at my ear and PRY my swollen flesh apart with pliers as she PUSHED from the front to try and force the backing out. I was withering in agony, delirious in pain as she proceeded to do this for over 15 minutes. At one point she leaned over me and told me to “quiet down” because I was “too loud” while she ripped my flesh apart. This was the most excruciating, agonizing experience I have *ever* had and I was on the brink of begging to be taken to the hospital because the pain was so overwhelming when she finally popped the back out of my ear.Since this experience I have been terrified to get piercings or change my jewelry, something I used to love.Sadly I also know many people who share similar experiences to this with Flo and have been traumatized by her as well. I would HIGHLY recommend making the trip to Vancouver to get pierced, the convenience is not worth the risk of going to this shop.

Flo is so rude and and has always been known by locals to even be rude to kids. When you work with people who are nervous on a regular basis, a little bed side manner could go a long way, Some patience, some kindness. Very toxic boomer energy for sure. Also so unprofessional, forgets appointments, cancels appointments without telling the client, doesn't greet clients, doesn't make any eye contact, talks half to you while on the phone, acts entitled and superior. This woman is not able to function to get a single task done, totally useless human, which would be okay if she wasn't so mean to everyone all the time

Just got my 7th piercing from Flo and I am so incredibly happy! Flo has done my belly button, nose, rook, helix, tragus, lobes, and now flat and I am obsessed with all of them! Flo gives the best advice, she knows her stuff so well and makes each experience easy and fun! Amazing selection of jewelry and really good after care recommendations and products. Can't wait to get lots more piercings! Thank you!

Flo was somewhat rude and forceful, not exactly the kind of vibe you want to get from somebody who is punching a hole through your body. The earrings are beautiful, the price was fair, and I appreciated the care put into being sanitary. However, she puts the earrings on ridiculously tight, to the point where you need 2 pliers and a second person to get them off, which personally caused myself a blood blister on my ear lobe and plenty of irritation physically and emotionally. I wasn't incredibly comfortable there to begin with, and after trying to remove the earrings with this much difficulty, I will never go back.

Each time we go to Flo's we have a great experience. She is funny, cool and very professional. We have gone twice during Covid and she is so on it with a safe and sterile environment and by appointment only. Our family has been going to Flo's for years now and she is always a delight with affordable pricing.

My eldest and a friend had their ears pierced here about 4 years ago when we lived on the coast. I moved away sadly however I was trying to find a new piercing place and I spoke to a couple of people recently and asked if there was anyone local who they could recommend. They mentioned Flo on the coast. As it happens I was planning a trip over so I made an appointment for my youngest daughter. So glad I did. I know she is in safe hands with Flo. She is professional and uses quality products and provides excellent after care services. Worth the ferry trip.

My appointment with Flo was extremely disheartening. My piercing (done by a previous professional) has now migrated due her lack of knowledge of the correct sizing of jewelry for this piercing. Her professionalism and lack of knowledge for being in the industry is very concerning. Do not recommend to anyone.

Had a great experience having my nose pierced here! The studio was comfortable and hygienic, and Flo was very professional and knowledgeable about the procedure, which was painless. Her aftercare instructions are thorough and she offers a variety of natural products that will help in the healing process. Highly recommend.

I've had my nose pierced here and had a great first experience. Flo was nice and talkative. I came back today to get a stud and an ear piercing and I could not be more in love with how they look. Unfortunately, as someone who has struggled with self harm for a few years I have scars on my arms. It was a hot day so I decided to wear short sleeves  as most people have the sense not to say anything. I was absolutely horrified and brought to tears when Flo bluntly mentioned I had fresh cuts" on me (they are all scarred) and proceeded to grab my arm and examine my scars. Even commenting on how deep they were etc. It was completely unprofessional and hurtful. She even made a comment that my piercing was going to hurt but I'm "no stranger to pain" so she "doesn't need to tell me that". My friend stood up for me and was met with anger from Flo. I will not be going back as this was one of my worst experiences ever with my scars. I'm leaving this review so she knows that this kind of behavior is extremely harmful to those of us with scars we cannot control. I deserve to be treated with respect."
