I have been informed that they finally have a cheque ready for me from the work I did for them 3 months ago. This cheque will encompass nearly my entire semester of working with them from Nov-Dec 2018. Not until the trimester had finished was I very worried that I would not get paid and was ready to take legal action in sorting this out. I informed them that would happen if they did not pay me and they finally stepped up. Some of the company's management has been very unorganized as well as ignoring my emails in attempts to getting informed about receiving my pay. Calling them served very little purpose as well because the only person who could confirm my cheque was the owner. I have attempted numerous times to speak with the owner Mark who has never been in the office and not contactable otherwise. On top of what Danica has stated, I understand why this companies ethics creates such a HIGH TURNOVER RATE of employee's in the Presenter" position.I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND WORKING WITH THIS COMPANY."

My daughter loves the whole experience and learning all sorts of new things. With her not being on school since March, she has desperately missed the interaction with other kids and the learning and experiments that she takes home every night.

So I had signed my daughter up for the mad science program that was offered at the school. It had started February and was to end May of this year. Of course due to covid, she only got a month out of it which is understandable. However, there were no emails with updated information regarding programs already in session, or if they are going to be pushed off until its safe to continue, if they will do alternate programs to make up for it etc. I reached out to them to ask, there were able to send out emails for new programs, but nothing with regards to programs that couldn't continue. I still haven't heard back from them at all, its been almost four months since I sent out my email. Even now that things are open they cant send an email to address customers concerns. I'm just simply asking for more information on this matter. I am completely aware it isn't safe for children to be around each other, nor would I put my child in anything at this time, however, it doesn't hurt to address questions/concerns via email or phone. Sadly, this has now put a bad taste in my mouth and my child did enjoy the short time that she had and I would have liked to continue when it safe to do so. But for those looking to join, I would stay clear. They take your money and don't care to address your concerns.

My daughter is on week two of Mad Science Camp having participated in Doctors, Detectives, and DNA, and this week Claws, Codes, and Constellations. We absolutely love the camp! This is not an expensive daycare. This is a place of learning with a really thoughtfully planned program for children. My daughter comes home bouncing up and down sharing what they did that day, and she is normally outspoken when she doesn’t like something and isn't easy to fool or pacify with silly tasks. They get outdoor play time which makes me very happy particularly during the summer months. No kid should be indoors all day. Their outdoor play is instructional play with games teaching them about topics in a fun way, instead of being dumped outside to figure it out. Some scientific concepts are hard to grasp but I appreciate introduction to concepts such as the periodic table using bingo. Slime... lots of slime, but the kids love it, and they manage to use it to teach chemistry. I love this program. I wish schools were run in this way. Well worth the money particularly for intelligent and curious children. Administration is responsive, professional, and accommodating. I had a concern over age gaps with a range of Grades 1-6. It’s a vast range in skill and older children tend to dominate so I was worried my Grade 2 wouldn't have as much hands on. Administration responded to my concerns and shared the age ranges of registered students so that I could judge which groups/weeks work best for me. I’m very happy to have invested in my child with this program.

Love how science concepts are taught creatively, while making it fun for kids to learn.

This company is not a good company to work for. They advertise 27$ an hour for part time presentor. However that's only for the 1 hour of class you teach, and they only compensate your mileage at .28 cents after 20km and station you in school boards that could potentially be an hour drive. It's almost impossible to cover your shifts if you have an illness, because you find your own coverage. You meet every Friday to exchange kits and that's not paid out until the end of the 6 weeks IF you're lucky. I'm still awaiting my last pay check for working every Friday for kit exchanges and its been since mid December and they haven't paid me because their staff manager quit, which also isnt my problem. They have you do your own pay log. Print out your own travel documents. The pay is horrendous for the work that you do. The people are great but the way they advertise this job is atrocious. Their communication is ineffective and almost non existant. Dont waste your time.Edit: the president of the company emailed me asking me my age and stated that this review was the reason why the world is regressing and its indicative. Simply because I wrote a review based off of my justified experiences.

Overall, our experience with Mad Science has been fantastic! We reached out and received a response back right away with pricing and availability. We had been looking into a few options, and this was the only one that had a timely response. We received a quote based on the number of kids and the various package options they offered. There was a travel fee that was added to commute to Burlington (which I do hope made it's way back to the talent and not kept by the head office!)Marijka was our host and let me tell you, she was PHENOMENAL. From the moment she got there, she was such a professional and managed our party incredibly well. As you can imagine with a group of 20 kids, there are a lot of personalities and we did have a few kiddos that were a bit out spoken" or were not following directions well. That said

I signed my son up for a program running from Feb - May of 2020. The program was delayed due to the ongoing strikes with the school board and then fully cancelled when school was called off due to covid.I could write a novel about how Mad Science had ample opportunities to send communications out to those registered for the programs during the strikes and during the initial school cancellation for COVID and didn’t... after paying for a full program in advance a simple email isn’t hard to keep people updated...there was no communication until April when they sent out an email pleading for registrants to keep their money with Mad Science in return for a credit towards a future program.I requested a refund in April, was told it was sent out but I still have not received it. Take that for what it is. I’m sure under normal circumstances my son would have enjoyed the program but after my experience I will not recommend anyone to Mad Science.
