Great place to get some drinks but food is bad, I mean B A D. Amount of oil in our fries was enough to squeeze it out and fry another batch.Bathroom lock is tricky but bathroom is super clean.Staff is great.

Went for Sunday all day happy hour and music bingo at 8:30pm. What a great vibe here! It's full, lots of people. Bingo is free to play and there are prizes. Great place to hang out and meet some locals. I would come here again!

Really great place to eat. We drove to Canmore to shop and stopped in at Tavern 1883. Our server was excellent, wish I had her name, awesome personality. We were seated on the patio which had so many heaters…no risk of getting cold. The food was so delicious. I had the chicken burger, my husband had the Tavern burger….so so good, as was the Caesar salad. Will be back on our next trip to Banff.

Ok, this place is a must visit! Had the Bison Burger with a fantastic IPA. This was possibly one of the best burgers I've had. They make their own patties, get their buns from a local brewery and it comes together great! The staff was fantastic and I really couldn't say more about how much I loved coming to this place. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much! Fantastic!

No reservations at Tavern 1883.We came on the recommendation that they have the best burgers in town. And it didn’t disappoint.I’d highly recommend if you need a big meal after a day of activity.

It was the first time eating at the Tavern. I had the bison burger and my wife had the beef burger, both were very good. They were around $21 each. The building inside was clean and had a great atmosphere with a deck outside as well. The waitress was very nice and helpful.

We ordered takeout from Tavern 1883 last night, and sadly it was a huge disappointment. Their menu sounded interesting with all the game meats and that was why we decided to give it a try. It also scored high enough on Yelp and Google.Everything was salty, but the worst was the poutine. It was unbearably salty. If you have to watch your sodium intake, avoid this place.The 1 star is for the person answering the phone who did take the time to ask the kitchen if the poutine is usually made like this. My husband and family are from Montreal, Quebec, so he knows how it's supposed to taste and even he had to admit it's overly salty.I also found a hard piece (like cartilage) in the elk meatballs. I don't mind cartilage if I'm eating off the bone, but not in a meatball.

Our first meal in Canmore was here and we were seated quickly around 6:30pm. It was crowded but they had a couple open tables. The 5 of us all enjoyed our food for the most part but there was nothing that really stood out as exceptional. Our server was new and messed up our beer order. I really only wanted a 20 ounce beer (they listed beers like 20 ounce and 12 ounce … and I said I wanted the larger size. Our waitress brought out an 80 ounce pitcher and said that’s what I ordered. No where that I saw on the menu did it say anything about ordering a pitcher of beer. She said that’s what I ordered and didn’t do anything to correct it. We did say we’d drink it which was kind of fun, but was way more beer than I wanted to drink at the time. I wished she’d just talked to her manager or had her manager come to the table. She was very friendly overall and got the rest of our order correct. They also have nice bathrooms.

We had a weird experience here. The staff seemed young & inexperienced, though kind. We waited a long time to speak with our waitress after being seated & got our drinks after our appetizer. Took a while for silverware to get there after the appetizer too. We’d asked for no onions on a dish & there they were. Aside from those mishaps, the food was tasty enough for a mountain town & the servers friendly. Don’t think I’d go back for more than a drink.

Came for a dinner as I was told its the best burger in town!Well the bison burger was super tasty as well as the salad I ordered with it.My partner had one of the signature burgers, he was very happy with his scran, he had his with fries. Like the fact you can choose fries or variety of salads as a side.Great dinner was followed by nice pint of IPA, what more to wish for? I'll tell you, deep fried breaded gherkins!!! Loved them!Staff is efficient and friendly, food is worth waiting for as the place is fairly busy.Highly recommend.
