High Sights Guiding

The three day Tonquin Valley tour organized by Joe and Caroline from High Sights Guiding was awesome. The tour offered the opportunity to experience the wild nature of Canada far away from the tourist hustle and bustle. During the three days we saw different animals (even Caribous!!), crossed many creeks, climbed a mountain peak without a trail, caught a fish and prepared it in the evening and much more. The tour was the perfect way to escape from everyday life. The organization was perfect and the group dynamic of 6 participants in total was super! I can definitely recommend High Sights Guiding and look forward to participating in more tours in the future! At this point again a thank you to Joe and Caroline.

I did the 4 day Fryatt Valley hike at the end of July with High Sights Guiding. Jocelyn was an amazing guide, making sure we knew all the details of what each day entailed and helped to support us if we needed it.The hike was challenging at times but extremely rewarding. It was very scenic and we had lots of amazing views. Throughout the hike, there was a variety of different terrain, which made it so things were always interesting and we were never bored!We were all experienced hikers on the trip, so for an added challenge, we were shown how to navigate and take the lead on parts of the hike. It was a great opportunity to further enhance my knowledge and skills. We were also given tips on how to tackle the more challenging terrain which helped improve my technique and strategies.It was really nice being able to stay at the Fryatt hut because we didn’t have to carry all our camping gear and cookware and we could just take our day packs with us on day 2 and 3. The hut was quite spacious with everything you needed and it offered amazing views of the mountains as well as a beautiful lake to cool off in. Jocelyn supplied breakfast and dinner that was homemade, healthy, and tasted amazing! He was also very accommodating to a variety of diets. I’m vegan and he easily adjusted the meals so that I could eat everything. I highly recommend this trip and High Sights Guiding if you are adventurous and want to challenge yourself. It is definitely one of the most memorable trips for me.

We did the Tonquin hike in August. I was a bit apprehensive about the distance, having not hiked much all summer but the pace was manageable with enough stops to fuel up. The pre-meeting was super helpful as Jo summarized what to expect, how to pack and answered any questions. The food was plentiful and delicious. I slept wonderfully. It was nice to relax and enjoy some laughter with a fun group. I took a dip in Amethyst Lake to cool off and caught my first Brook trout with Jo's guidance. We even saw caribou right outside the lodge. Jo and Caro were splendid! I'm planning on booking next summer! Thanks again!

Joe guided us for 5 days up at Purcell Mountain Lodge. He is full of knowledge about guiding & hiking, and shared interesting facts about the plants, mountains, trees & area. We felt safe and the hike was within all our abilities. Plus he's alot of fun to hang with! 5 stars Joe!

This review can be summarized as follows: Jo Nadeau is an awesome guide. You are in good hands if you decide to hike with Jo and High Sights Guiding.Our group hiked with Jo for three days along the Skyline Trail in Jasper National Park. Jo tailored the trip to the interests and abilities of our group. On Day 2, he skillfully (and safely) guided us on an off-trail route that I would not have attempted on my own.The group can't say enough good things about Jo. I highly recommend him.

I’ve been on two week-long trips with Jo guiding, and both of those trips were right at the limit of both my emotional and physical capabilities. Jo provided excellent support for me for both of these aspects. The trips were both huge successes and I look forward to going out with jo as my guide in the future. Jo is an extremely talented outdoorsman, in phenomenal shape, relentless in his campcraft, always ready with a great story, and calm, cool, and collected in emergencies.

When guiding our group of hikers with various levels of skill and experience, Jo's character and skills strongly impressed us. His priority was always our safety, comfort and enjoyment. He was an outstanding leader, extremely cordial and absolutely reliable. Jo has and deserves our highest recommendation.

Joined Jocelyn on a trip to the Fryatt Valley. It was a trip of a lifetime. Jocelyn is an encouraging and thoughtful guide willing to share his knowledge and expertise. On this trip I learned a ton from him and the experience overall, always feeling safe yet still challenged to try new things and push myself. Meals were excellent and accommodations at the Fryatt Valley hut made for an easy and personal backcountry experience. Was also super impressed with the organization and preparation. One of the best backcountry trips of my life :)

I had an incredible time on the Tonquin Valley multi day hike! Jo was super helpful from start to finish. The views were breathtaking! We had a perfect small group. Food was great! Overall perfect 3 days. Would highly recommend.

Amazing Experience. Jo is a great guide who created a fun and relaxed atmosphere. He is knowledgable and an excellent teacher - I learned so much about Nature and backcountry skills during our time together. We felt safe but still had adventure. The trip logistics were well organized and proceeded seamlessly. Jo was prompt and efficient. We had delicious and nutritious food. I also enjoyed the group of people on the trip with us - in such a short time we made good friends. The conversation was stimulating and interesting. I really can't say enough and I can't wait for our next trip with High Sights.
