Solmaz Foods

I don't usually leave public reviews but I will make an exception for Solmaz as I looked for a decent butcher in Toronto for years and finally found the right place! Despite living on the other side of the city, I drive half an hour to get all my meat from Solmaz every Saturday. The meat is always fresh, high quality; they always greet you with a smile and the prices are great to top it off. Moreover, you can find pretty much all of the authentic Turkish delicacies here (kokorec, tripe, butcher kofte, Adana kabab, etc.) Top notch place! If you ever end up stopping by, ask for Yurt and he will take care of you.

Very clean and organized store. Their meats are high quality. Most products are more expensive than other middle eastern stores. Even some places sell their solmaz brand products for the same price or less. I find this odd. Please keep your prices low to compete.

Two stars only because the staff is nice.Yesterday I went and purchased chicken thighs. The ones on the counter were old so they offered to make them fresh. Took 15 min but I was happy to get fresh ones. When I got home I noticed they had rushed the processing of them. Bones tendons skin still in the boneless chicken thighs.In the pictures you can see a pile of the stuff I had to cut away to get clean meat.

First time here! Great place VERY AFFORDABLE AND FRESH! I was super impressed with the customer service thank you to Marlene very helpful lady super kind will come back!!

Amazing Turkish grocery store with a large variety of products you might not find elsewhere. A great bakery with good savoury & sweet cookies and delicious baklavas. Overall the employees here were really nice and helpful. Love to get Ata Sucuk from here much better tasting than other brands!

Be careful when purchasing baked goods.Drove 30+km to them to buy lahmacun and it was covered in MOLD!!!!!! I reached out to them for a resolution and they didn’t get back to me. Sad!! Go to Urla foods instead. Much more fresh and welcoming!

If I could give 0 stars to this disgusting store, I would. I have been a huge bbq lover forever and the lamb skewers I got from this place was absolutely garbage. The meat was OLD! I eat lamb almost every week so its not hard for me to distinguish a good quality fresh lamb vs a stinky lamb that clearly has been in the fridge for days. We got 5lbs of their skewers and threw them all out right away, couldn’t even get my dog to eat it. Keep in mind, they are more a butcher than a grocery store so, out of everything, you would expect their meat to be a decent quality. ABSOLUTELY NOT! I have already filed a complaint with Toronto Public Health. As a fellow Turkish, Im absolutely disgusted and disappointed. DO NOT GO!

A Turkish grocery store with an inside fast food restaurant, we ordered the burgers there, they were so tender and melted in our mouths. it was the best burger I’ve ever had in Toronto. they also have different types of turkish baklava and desserts. the meat section was so clean.

Amazing Turkish grocery store and Halal butcher shop. Bought some delicious Turkish bread and Adana kebabs. Clean and well maintained. Friendly and respectful staff. Great variety of Turkish sweets. Highly recommended!
