Great facility! Way too busy and management is nowhere to be found.Any time you try to book or be there during hours for kids, it’s overrun with people who aren’t to be there. This is the morning 10-15 year old section. All adults playing and you can’t have a kid really playing at all. So much for waking up early. The Y is the worst run facility there is. Nice equipment, pool, gym though.Don’t ever count on kids time slots. The Y has mostly kids working there doing nothing. And the adults working there aren’t much better. They certainly don’t actually manage gym times.

I love my local Y. It's always clean with friendly staff. The Swimming instruction for kids is solid. Youth programs are well run. Gym equipment is well maintained. My only gripe is how busy weight/cardio room can get. Would be nice if it was adult only in high-demand times. Teens preening for Instagram shots should also be restricted. Wastes time on equipment serious people would like to use.

This is not a big YMCA, but the space planning is quite efficient. There are pool, condition room (gym), large multipurpose court/ room, ping pong room, game room... Everything that we need. This YMCA doesn't have running track though. The TV is not hooked up yet.

I’ve been a member since opening. Joined because it’s close and had a basketball court. There are only 3 hours a week allocated for adult basketball and two of them are half court only. Workout gym is always packed- usually with kids. I’m going back to LA Fitness, it doesn’t have a gymnasium but who cares- can’t even use the one the Y has.

It's really a nice facility. There are definitely many people that sit on their phones while working out. Often not moving nor doing any reps. I don't think there's any realistic way to fix this issue other than add another floor which isn't going to happen in this space. It's great for a YMCA though. Bright and modern and I personally find everyone very nice here. Staff and members.

As a new member I had a lot of questions about their services and programs. I called and spoke to Jordan today, who was so informative and answered all my questions in great detail.I was amazed at how well she knew all programming and services at the Stavro YMCA! And how friendly and kind she was despite my many questions!I just wanted her manager to know that she knows her job really well and should be kept working there at all costs!

Being able to reserve a lane swim was what attracted me to this instead of the community centre where you never knew if there would be space. Booked one, and when I went, there were 4 lanes open and 13 people. It would be better if they just didn't offer the app and were honest it is a free for all.

I've decided to cancel my membership after coming to terms that their current growing pains will always be their limitation. Hard to fix and decisions that they cannot back out of now without significant, expensive changes. The good:- staff are very welcoming and understanding. Always trying to help where they can- place is tidy (for the most part) and smells clean- location is convenient, glad to have a ymca in our area- instructors are energetic and it's fun keeping up with themThe growing pains and dealbreakers:- booking classes and sessions is an everyday battle. If you're not on the app when classes become available, you'll lose your chance to book quite quickly. Especially for family related events like swim time.- not all classes are covered under the membership fee. In addition to fighting for a spot, we learned some classes were an additional cost and you had to pay for all sessions up front. This was not made transparent on the app or their site- the universal changerooms do not have private showers. I do not feel comfortable bathing our child in a public shower. This seems like a huge miss for a place that's supposed to be family oriented.- gym etiquette is very hit or miss, mostly miss. I raised this issue with staff on multiple occasions about folks not wiping down machines, refusing to rotate sets, and not returning equipment to the racks. Their response is that they agreed, but don't want to baby the guests". To which my only other suggestion is to provide education and training during the initial member onboarding.- related to the above

I love the pool at 3 pm or 6 am when it is not too crowded. It is a bit hard to find a on street parking sometimes but there is an underground parking at $4 for 3 hrs. The facilities are brand new and staff is friendly.

Ive been a member for 1 month now. Overall, a very nice facility that is well maintained. Equipment is top notch and the building is very clean. Membership fees are fair. Family rate is very reasonable. Cons: on the the weekends it opens at 8am which it too late for me. Weekdays it opens at 6am, which is too late for me. No towel service. Showers don't dispense enough water. Eco designing, I suspect. Men's change rooms are tiny. Universal change room is good. The gym is always crowded at any time and programs are always booked up. Pool is nice but too small. I will probably take my business elsewhere as I need a 24 hour gym and I prefer not to wait to use equipmemt. 3/5 for my needs.
