A local company in Peterborough that would rather laugh while ticketing visitors, patrons & construction workers for helping downtown grow and if you’re not confused enough by their “rules are rules” mentality in their ever-changing and complicated laws, just wait until you come downtown to enjoy shopping and a bite to eat (in under 2h) they’ll slap a $25 on your car.. After you’ve tried to pay for parking in one of their many broken meters, just to punish you for trying to support local establishment. Let’s just ticket the misuse of accessible parking, hydrants and no park zones like they used to, most people do not want to come downtown in fear of getting mistreated by Securitas, they would rather go to the mall or Walmart where they don’t get harassed. I was dropped off downtown by my boss during the height of the pandemic, when half of George was blocked off to support outdoor dining. As we parked, Securitas knocked on the window said “you can’t park here” so I proceeded to unload my gear from the trunk, he followed me back and pulled his phone out, took a photo of the license plate, As I’m saying a quick goodbye to my boss, he goes to drive out, Securitas lifts his wiper blade and stuffs a ticket under it. I looked over at the guy and proceeded to tell him “that was the biggest douchebag move I’ve ever seen” and he laughed and walked away. Imagine the downtown we could have without these guys leaving a sour taste in everyone’s experience in our community. Just a side note, does any of their 3 million dollar annual ticket income support our local indigenous community?

This branch will likely be shut down within the next year or two. Corporate has wanted to shut down this particular office for a while as it's just not allegedly pulling in the numbers. Personally recommend finding another company to make new contracts with who wont be disappearing.

What can I say like every security company there cons and pros. Contracts for security company's can very some our hands off other hands on. Securitas Canada is one of the biggest security companies in world as well as Canada. Securitas employs a lot of employees across the world. If I were to compare Securitas to its competitors it would be nice if securitas offered more hands on training, had more high profile contracts,had sites that were more hands on. Securitas may offer body armor etc but depends on site specifics,location etc. Other security company our more flexible when comes to having body armour as well as offer more training. Employees with securitas may have to deal with same or similar situation at sites that can be dangerous. But dont have same training or am provided with protection to combat threats when compared to competitors who offer the training and equipment. That securitas competitor have to deal with the same or similar occurrences. Securitas isn't a terrible company but lacks some of what its competitors do and/or offer to its employees.

Amazing team. Great pay and very understanding. I would not work anywhere else. Shout out to Michael Kollaard. He’s just great at doing his job, friendly and personable.
