My husband and I have been skiing at North Highlands Nordic for over thirty years, and consider this ski area one of the reasons we look forward to winter in northern Cape Breton. The combination of pleasures offered individuals and families by this facility (a wonderously scenic trail layout, deep snow cover from Christmas into mid-April, impeccable trail grooming and a welcoming, friendly, helpful, well-trained staff) all add up to a winter outdoor experience that should be enjoyed by all fans of winter outdoors. And since snow shoes are also part of the available rental equipment, those without cross country skiing abilities are able to enjoy their winter visit regardless of their abilities.For those craving a spectacular outdoor experience while respecting the governmental restrictions Covid has forced upon us, North Highlands Nordic is the perfect destination. The management here takes Coved precautions seriously, and ensure that users of the ski area are all aware of ways they can fulfill their responsibilities to protect themselves and each other while enjoying their outdoor experience to the maximum.The overall quality of this operation deserves 10 stars!

Excellent cross-country ski resort! My wife and I were complete beginners and we found ourselves getting lost in the thrill of it all, the instructors were fantastic and the views were nothing short of breathtaking!!!

Toller Ort. Super freundliches Personal. War dort wandern mit Skischuhen. Super ausgebaute Pisten und Wege. Auch Loipen für Langlauf vorhanden. Insgesamt einfach nur super. Muss man machen!!!

It was an amazing experience cross country skiing here. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful and we were able to try both Snow shoes and Cross country skis. Trails are well maintained and offer great scenery.

Wonderful experience skiing and snowshoeing on the well groomed trails. Personal there to rent equipment and answer questions is first class.
