Chapter1 Daycare and Preschool

I've been interacting with Chapter 1 for the past four years and I can proudly say they've exceeded all of my expectations. My first child attended for four years, and my second child was there two years.The staff are incredibly kind and loving to the children, and it was heartwarming to see the bonds my children created with them. Importantly, staff is generally very consistent without much turnover so you can count on stability for your child.The Daycare layout was one of the key reasons I chose Chapter 1 back in 2018. Rather than individual enclosed rooms, it is one big wide open room, separated by low walls, bookcases, and gates. I liked the fact that caretakers were able to look over at one another, for reasons that: 1) caretakers could easy signal for help if they need support from coworkers, and 2) less private spaces = more personal security for a child. (Bonus: it was also nice that my eldest could hear her sibling, look over at him, and support him on his hard days if needed.)We got lots of art daily, my kids learned a ton and are well set up for their next schooling endeavours, and as parents we felt very involved throughout the years. The staff went above and beyond to host holiday and milestone events with kids & parents, and I will very much miss being part of the Chapter 1 family.Thank you so much for everything you've done for my kids and family. <3

We had our daughter here all too briefly. The staff is amazing and so good with our daughter. Reasonably priced and amazing hours. Ms. Suki and Ms. Sophie and all the other educators there truly care about our daughter and her wellbeing. I cannot recommend this day care enough.

We love Chapter 1 Daycare. It is clear that the teachers care about children and do everything to foster their development. The daycare manager Dee is amazing. She always listens to any concerns with compassion and is ready to provide appropriate solutions. They have also successfully kept the children safe and heathy through the pandemic. We are lucky to have found such amazing care for our son.

Both of our kids have been at Chapter 1 since they started daycare - 4 years now for our oldest. The staff have been attentive, kind and reliable and their response to COVID has been top-notch, allowing our kids to consistently attend. It has been great to watch them develop and learn at Chapter 1 and both will be sad to leave their friends and caregivers when entering school. Highly recommend!

We greatly enjoyed our time at Chapter1. It was our family's first experience with daycare and it was everything we could have hoped for. The staff was friendly and attentive and our child bonded with them quickly. The smaller size of this daycare is a big advantage as it makes for a very personable experience. Another bonus is there is room inside to leave your stroller. We will miss this daycare a lot. Thanks for your kindness and care!

My twins attended chapter for 3 years, starting at age 2. The teachers are incredibly caring, especially Mizpah. She is amazing with the kids and they all seem to love her. She was the best part about our experience at chapter 1!There is an option to include your kids in a ballet class each week - which was really nice to have, as they don’t need to go anywhere for it. There were a couple cute dance recitals after covid protocols were lifted, which were super cute.They did a great job dealing with covid, we felt the kids were safe, but not overly strict (with my son having an asthmatic cough) and we weren’t unnecessarily sent home.

The best daycare here! Cannot say enough good words for all the staff there and my kid’s development. My kid loved it there. Unfortunately we are moving out of province but I highly recommend this place to anyone.

It took me and my husband a long time to find a daycare in downtown to be happy with. Both my kids attended Chapter1 and we have nothing but great things to say about this daycare. They have amazing staff, wonderful program manager, and great program. They challenge the kids and make the environment exciting for them . I highly recommend this place to families who are picky and care about their kids development and care. Thank You.

Chapter1 Daycare has been a great daycare for both my kids. As a teacher, I have been impressed with the education and socialization programming they have implemented. Not only are my kids excited to attend every morning, I am confident that they will both be more than ready for Kindergarten when ready to attend.

The teachers are so caring, my son hugs his Pre-K teacher each day, before going home. They make sure to discuss any positive and negative actions and behaviours as well and make an effort to work with the parents for solutions. The centre is always very clean and the meals prepared are very much enjoyed by our son. Our son is always coming home with interesting craft projects, new songs and stories of friendship. They are flexible with payment schedules and work with the parents to make sure the child is getting the care and resources needed for success. I am grateful to Chapter 1 for the years spent with our son, helping him grow. We are sad to leave but now that I am working from home, instead of downtown, it's more sensible to have him closer to home.
