One of the better Dim Sum places. I used to love the carts rolling around, but I found the last time we went the items we were waiting for never came. They said they were coming and then round after round they didn't. Ended up ordering them with a server which was fine.

Central Grand Restaurant
I have had Central Grand's dinner and dim sum over many years and it has always been excellent. They use fresh ingredients that are cooked well (especially their fish which we had in this meal). Their menu carries special features and items with unique flavors that you wouldn't find elsewhere at least in Calgary!Definitely recommend their fish and other seafood dishes!

Mediocre dining experience. Expect at least $7.85 per dish. Most of the dim sum comes around in a cart for you to order, like in Hong Kong. If you want something particular that did not come around in a cart, you can order with a server. The servers were considerate with young children in providing an extra set of cutlery and dishes. The restaurant does tend to get busy during peak dining hours.

I had two experiences with Central Grand during my stay in Calgary. We went there for dine in dinner and then we also ordered their take out dinner combo another day. The taste of the dine in food was ok and better than their take out combo. Their signature Peking duck 3 courses were not bad, the portion was fair. Other main courses wasn’t too fancy though. It was quite pricey but consider the decent decor and seating, it was acceptable. If you want to go to a nice Chinese restaurant for group gathering or banquet, this maybe a choice for you.

We were honoured to be invited for Chinese new year dinner at the central grand. The 10 course dinner was absolutely exceptional. All 10 courses were prepared for us, fresh using quality ingredients and the flavour showed. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant.

I must say we only just tried this restaurant and I was very surprised, in a good way. It definitely exceeded my initial expectations and I think it might over take my usual go to spot. I would like to start this review with what I would say is so far the best take on Singapore noodles that I have tried at any Calgary Chinese restaurants, the portions of shrimp and the curry was done just right, great “Wok Hey” the flavor was excellent. My group and I also ordered the sweet and sour pork, it was tender and definitely more on the sweet side, not bad but not the best, still worth ordering, we also ordered a crispy chicken, the flavor was quite good and the meat was tender, we followed that dish up with an order of you choy, the you choy was nicely seasoned and very soft. I'm really excited to go back and try more on the menu, I highly recommend making a trip just for the Singapore noodles! We will definitely be going back!

Really great hong Kong traditional dimsum restaurant. Great traditional dimsum with a Hong Kong style vibe. The beef tripe, traditional congee, shrimp, shrimp cilantro chive dumplings and many more was so delicious!
