De La Mer - Leaside

I like this store and I would love to be able to buy more from them and support a local business. My problem is that the selection is soooo limited. They always have trout, salmon and tilapia. Otherwise, good luck....I wanted scallops yesterday and they only had 4 tiny little ones. I wanted Mahi last week, and they didn't have any. They told me to order on the website, but I went to the website and there's no Mahi. I'd be buying a lot more from this lovely store if they sold more than just salmon and tilapia and a random piece of snapper.

Awesomely fresh fish! Been here a couple times getting sashimi-grade tuna and salmon. Smoked salmon cream cheese is always a good addition to the purchase! Friendly staff, great location. And always a lemon... great stuff! Highly recommended!

I've been a weekly customer of the Bayview shop for over 3 years, and I highly recommend their delicious Oceanwise salmon. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's great having a fishmonger along with the butchers and fruit/veggie stores for convenient, neighborhood shopping.

Went there for the first time this past weekend. So far we’ve eaten salmon burgers and crab cakes. Both super flavourful and we will certainly be back for more.We also got some cod cakes, white fish and frozen smoked salmon which we haven’t tried yet. They were very approachable - I’m sure I was asking dumb questions but they were really kind and even provided recommendations on how to prepare what I was purchasing.

I have tried this place one other time and was decently satisfied with it. I have a big event coming up in 3 weeks and wanted to taste a couple options of their fish before deciding what to order for my event since we were planning on having a sushi station. However after my experience yesterday and their customer service, I won't be going back. I placed an order online and specified that it was for sashimi and sushi. When I got home and opened the salmon, I was shocked to find this half gray tail thin piece that smelled horribly. It was evident it was not fresh and after a quick google search I realized it was not safe to eat since the color of the fish is gray. After reaching out to customer service, they said the gray color was safe and expected" of a tail piece and I "should've asked for a center cut". I'm not sure how much more I could've done as a customer by specifying in my order it was for sushi

The store smells awful, like the counters have never been cleaned. Selection on the menu board is good, but selection from the counter doesn’t reflect that as counters were almost empty. Fish looks old and dry, which led to me not buying anything.

De La Mer have a fantastic selection of fish. Their smoked and cured salmon is delicious. Their dips are outstanding. And the best are their oysters, which you can order shucked, in advance--awesome for cocktail parties! Their prices are reasonable too. The staff are very friendly and helpful. This is my go-to fish market. Highly recommended!

If you're looking for seafood in Toronto. The only place is De La Mer. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
