Excellent vegan restaurant with lots of gluten free options. The food here is well thought and full of flavour. We tried 5 dishes including the crème brûlée which was probably the best I've ever had! The sausage was packed with flavour and we couldn't get enough of the sauce that it was resting in. Cocktails and wines were very good and complimented the menu. I took a star away because the server, although attentive-ish, was very negative and couldn't stop talking about how terrible Vancouver was and starting down the anti-government rhetoric. We came for my wife's birthday and wanted an enjoyable experience, not this. But, I'm sure he has already quit as he said he would so we can try again on our next trip to Vancouver.

We found this place at random, looking for vegan brunch at Google Maps, and what a surprise!It has a lot of space, so we didn't need to wait to be sit down even in a Saturday morning.Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, with a great presentation and excellent prices.Now I want to come back for dinner, since the menu looks incredible.

Amazing vegetarian food. Got the five spiced beets salad, grilled mushroom toast, and creme brulee. All were excellent.

Atmosphere is amazing! The food was okay, in the end there aren't many vegan places and this restaurant is definitely a go-to if you are vegan. The plating is amazing as well. Since I'm a vegetarian, I would have much preferred a place with eggs and cheese, we came for brunch so the menu is slightly different. It would have been great if they're menu is updated so people know what is available for the brunch menu. And what is the time frames for brunch, lunch and dinner. So apparently on the weekends there is no lunch menu, it's just a brunch. Since their menu is online, I think it would be really great if they had pictures with their menu items, because it was really difficult for us to order without knowing what things look like. If your vegan, I definitely recommend a try!

This was our first visit to Vancouver and Nightshade was on our list of places to try - and it far exceeded our expectations! When I was looking up vegan restaurants I had no idea I found a 2022 Recipient - Michelin Bib Gourmand!We've had our fair share of vegan and plant based dishes but the entire experience of dining at a 100% plant based meal elevated what fine dining looked like to another level. I wish everyone I knew could experience this place and the food...mmmm, absolutely delicious! We were members of the clean plate club for sure this night.First off, we made a reservation online prior to coming (recommended). We were greeted with the most warm welcome and seated very quickly by none other than Chef Chanthy Yen.Chanthy shared the special dishes of the evening and gave recommendations based on our additional nut allergy. We had a hard time choosing as we wanted to try everything but we settled for 2 small plates, 2 large plates, and a dessert. We shared everything and each dish was magnificent. From the presentation of the meal, to the explanation of everything on the dish, to the textures and tastes - we loved it all. Chanthy made the evening so pleasant for us. He even took time to ask about us and what brought us there. My husband and I felt very comfortable and taken care of throughout the entire night. How many times can you say you've felt that on a night out?Overall, this place is for every eater who enjoys great high end tasting food. Whether it's date night, brunch dates, or lunchtime with a friend(s) - this is the spot you HAVE to try. And for those who have vegan and plant-based people in their life, treat them out to this place. You will see what plant based food can truly look and taste like and just might become a repeat patron as well.We were so lucky to have tried this on our last night in Vancouver. Thank you Chanthy and the whole staff who made our meal ultra delicious and our night very special! We appreciate you!

I’ve been to Nightshade twice in the past few weeks. The food is completely plant based but you’d never know it. The mushroom risotto is outstanding! So creamy with a lovely mushroom flavour.All the food is fantastic. Also loved the Tempura Crunch Sushi Roll, and seasonal veggies as sides. Yesterday I tried the Mee Kola Noodle Bowl for lunch and it was delicious! If you’ve never tried higher end plant based food, this place is a must.

Great vegan spot. Obvious care in developing the menu. Nice varied selection. Great flavours and effort in presentation. Highly recommend for regular vegans or those trying it out.

The best vegan place in Vancouver!! We had a great time on the pretty patio. I loved the unique and creative food and cocktails! Also, the presentation of each dish brings joy and excitement to the table:)) we will come back for sure and highly recommend it even if you are not vegan:)

I visited for dinner, and the food was excellent. I was really impressed by how tasty it was. I'm vegetarian, not vegan, but this was incredibly tasty vegan food. I'll definitely go in for brunch if I can!

Truly one of the best vegan restaurants we’ve been to. Great service, food, and cocktails. A bit pricey but worth it
