I want to start with emphasizing that we had a very nice unique ceremony. I have already submitted a review for our wedding, however, there have been some incidents that have happened that left me feeling uncomfortable and disappointed with Abegael and her service. There were incidents in the beginning that gave me a red flag such as the underlaying feeling that she was focused on money, asked for the remainder of her deposit twice, put the wrong name on our first draft, and overall we had a feeling of a lack of connection with her. We worked through some of these issues to the point that I felt comfortable to proceed with our ceremony. And besides, her $900 deposit was non refundable which helped us accept and work through our doubts. All together her fee was $1800 which we found rather steep in comparison to others. Day of ceremony she was 45 minutes late. I had to phone her to ask her where she was. She replied that she had taken a wrong turn. I never received an apology. When a guest of our wedding helped Abegael back to her car, she mentioned to my friend that she had stopped at a plant sale. This left me to wonder if that was actually the reason she was late. And not because she took a wrong turn. After the wedding she reached out to us twice to prompt us to do her review. In spite of how I felt, I proceeded to give her a fair review and rated 2 categories a 4/5. It was not 15 minutes later that she phoned my husband and asked us to explain why we rated her as such and would we consider editing it to a 5 as she was used to receiving a 5. I sent a respectful email to her the following day breaking down why we rated her as such. She returned my email explaining in detail why she did what she did and again asked me if we could reconsider changing it to a 5. At this point I felt she was bordering on harassment, was a tad arrogant and not respecting the fact that a review is an individual choice and should be reflective of an honest opinion. It also caused me to wonder if her previous ratings were as a as such because she approached others in the same way she approached us after our review. There is no doubt she is experienced but I hope that for future couples that this is not their final experience with her.
