Positano Paving

We had a quote provided and agreed to have the work done in April 2019, we were told June for when the work would be done. We were happy with this as we needed it done before the winter. We were told that wouldn't be a problem. Our driveway consisted of a little gravel and dirt, which turns to mud in the fall and spring. In the winter, it forms ice as you can't shovel it right down, therefore it was a real hazard. They came and did the grading, and dug the driveway down a few inches, which removed what remaining gravel we had, and then never came back. We called them multiple times looking to see when they were coming to pave. As mentioned in other reviews, when you call, you don't speak to an employee of Positano, but some answering service. They had no information for me and was told I'd get a call back. When they did phone back, they said they were really busy and it would be another month. I reiterated the importance of having it done before winter. Meanwhile, the dirt left over from their grading was very soft, which meant tires dug into it and created tracks and divots that collected water. When it got really wet and muddy, my car actually had a hard time making it in or out. Months went by and no call. Another call to their answering service netted the same result: we're busy, maybe September. In October, the snow started to fly early. I phoned them yet again. They said it was too late and they'd be back in the spring. When I reminded them that we told them back in spring of that year that we needed it before winter, I was advised that they have a very limited window to pave driveways and they can't get to everyone. I told them not to bother coming back, we'd be hiring someone else. So we had another winter with a hazardous driveway, now more hazardous thanks to their grading and excavating work. The new company we hired has told us that Positano's work was done incorrectly and they didn't excavate far enough down. So I guess it's a blessing in disguise that they never showed up.

I understand how busy you are and, although with all your responsibilities you have, running your Company business, you found the time to come to our house and help. Indeed, your Company and you personally can be proud of what you have been doing for us, your customers: you always remember that even after work is done we are still staying your thankful customers. Made arrangements the prior year in the fall, they informed me they would contact me in the spring which they did as the paving season was over. Frank called, provided me a time and date, he showed up and was very professional. Ended up using another company but would recommend from my first impression.

We loved working with JJ and the Positano Team to fix, level, set water drainage levels and pave our driveway. They were super attentive to the details and the results are amazing! It’s always great to work alongside professionals!!!

We received a quote from Frank from Positano he was very knowledgeable and professional. After that we could not get the company to book a time period when they would complete the work. They kept making excuses and you could not speak to anyone directly they use an answering service and leave you messages and like to send emails. If you need paving completed I would suggest save yourself the time and effort dealing with this company. We went else where and dealt with a personable and professional company.

Very pleased with all aspects of the company. Request for quote was responded to very quickly and then followed up when ready to firm the job up. Timelines for the work, Prep(tear out & fill/grooming), Finish product (paving) were well advised by Positano and met on all conditions. All staff were very pleasant & polite. Very disappointed with Positano Paving. I had high hopes with their claim of being voted #1 Paving Contractor in Barrie". I can't comment on their workmanship because

THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK!!The workers themselves were very nice and so was the salesman. But, after less than a year, a bubble 4 feet long and1 inch high formed in the middle of the driveway. Emails are ignored, calls are not returned. I am afraid I will have to go to small claims court to fix this. Do yourself a favor and check out other companies' reviews before hiring Positano. I wish I had.

Positano was recommended to me several years ago when we first thought we were going to re-pave. We wound up putting it off. I contacted them mid August and they called me back right away. Frank came out the same day and provided me with a quote via email. Although we had other paving companies quote for comparable pricing, I found the professionalism and promptness worth paying the slightly higher price. Emails were answered promptly, Karen and Tina were great and called me to update me on their scheduling. The paving at our home was actually done sooner than we expected. The project was completed today and we are very pleased with the results. The fact that they are a local company and contribute to our local economy was very important to me. Thank you Positano.
